Good to see Buehrle go the distance for the win.
What an awesome performance after the first. In effect he got the final 26 outs in a row.

It's lucky the players keep a more even keel on their emotions during a season than the fans.

Why did the Twins give up on Colabello? Sure he's a bit of a disaster in the outfield, he's a 1st baseman, but he's a pure hitter.

Nice to see Paul Molitor as the manager of the Twins. The Jays got luckly, when he joined them he was going through the last prolific phase of his playing career.

Didn't they say that after a hot start his performances last season dipped (but that could have been explained by an injury to his thumb)?

Colabello is a career minor leaguer who has the rep for being a streaky hot/ cold hitter with limited defensive skills.

BTW, Donaldson is now tied for 1st place in RBI's and 2nd in HR's, to go with his .300+ BA. Must be a shoo-in as the All Star game starter at 3B.

We should go to the MLB site and vote for Donaldson among other Jays.

Go to mlb.com and look for the 'vote' option near the top right.

back on the bandwagon...only 2.5 games behind in an astonishingly weak division ..Baltimore really the team to beat. So next week, Colabello plays left field when Bautista plays right. What happens when Saunders comes back?

By the way Carrera has been overlooked, but has performed well as the quintessential fourth outfielder.

Now if only the pitching holds up (doubtful).

By the way, are the jays going to set a record for the lowest percentage of saves to wins in a year? I think collectively they have only 3 saves in the 23 wins. Our closer Cecil has 2. A win is a win, but closing remains another question mark

By the way, I agree with leaving Buerhle in to pitch the ninth, but the "book" for most teams is to bring in your closer.

And now Colabello knocks one out.
Starting to like this guy also.

I would even argue perhaps Cola should move up in the batting order ahead of EE

So was that big lumbering strikeout machine they had at 3rd last year when Brett was hurt. I can't even remember his name. Had a great start and then regressed to his norm. Could not hit a curveball if his life depended on it.

It sounds like you only have one cheek on that wagon.

I think Coke gets no better than a platoon with Saunders depending on Gibby's perceived needs for that particular game. Possible some DHing 'til Navarro (switch hitter) returns at which point they can DFA Thole and add someone else to the roster depending on their needs. As well Dioner (unless he's changed his mind) still wants a trade. Jays may get a decent bullpen arm for him for a team needing a catcher. Maybe some injury to a catcher on a team with playoff aspirations. For once AA would be the GM with the leverage.
