Gibbons got to go. He is hurting the young kids and he is an idiot. First inning.....man on second and third for sox...Sandoval dangerous left hand hitter...Sanchez gets behind 3-0........WALK HIM!!!!! instead Sandoval gets pitch he wanted and hammers 2 rbi. The batter on deck much less dangerous. So game should have been 5-3 in ninth for us. Also situation called for Cecil not Castro in ninth.
They have to sign Soriano or trade a kid for Papelbon......and fire Gibbons and Walker. Otherwise last place...even a great offence cant save bad pitching or bad managers

Watched the game last night. Very disappointing. I'm trying to be optimistic but can't evade the thought "here we go again".

My bet is an attempt to increase concession sales as well by getting them into the park with no time for dinner out before.
Ricky Romero says his release by the Toronto Blue Jays came as a surprise and the left-hander acknowledges that he has “mixed feelings” about whether he had the full support of the organization. Romero said the news was especially surprising given that during Spring Training he was called in for a positive meeting with manager John Gibbons and pitching coach Pete Walker.
“(They) let me know they were still thinking of me and still believe in me,” he said. “They told me ‘Make sure you take your time’ and we think it’s going to be a great story the day you come back up and help us.... "
The left-hander said he is looking ahead and will continue to pursue a career in the major leagues.
“There’s 29 other teams out there,” he said. “I’m looking forward to the next chapter in my life and hopefully it’s with a team that believes in me and gives me an opportunity.”

He completely lost it around 4 years ago and he doesn't think they gave him a fair chance?
Oh well, like Jack Morris always said: "Put up ten for me, boys! I've never lost yet with ten on the board." Or eleven, I guess.
Dude is a nut job. I remember when he was getting absolutely shelled, and couldn't throw a strike for his life. His ERA was at about 12, and he made a comment that he shouldn't be sent down.
ya...I don't know about that. Offence hasn't been the problem. It's been pitching, both starters and bullpen. No good putting up 8 runs when the other team scores 9

Baltimore, Boston, and Toronto all have huge problems with their pitching staffs so far this year and that sharply lowers their probability of winning the division if this keeps up.
Boston's starting pitchers are a complete abomination so far.
Looks like the Yankees can sneak through again and maybe win the division if their relative strength in pitching holds up. Already this year the Yankee pitching staff has allowed 29 fewer runs against compared to Jays staff.
I think it's been 22 years in a row the Yankees have finished ahead of the Jays in AL East standings if they hold on to end of this season.

Had a feeling before the season started that the success of the team largely hinged on how the 3 young starters , Hutchison, Sanchez, Norris fared and they've all struggled.
Nobody has been able to replace what Stroman and Happ did last year and that puts the team in a deep hole.
Everything in baseball is like a probability wave and the probability wave that is the pitching staff is like a hurricane killing any chance of getting to the playoffs.
Next year I think the team should bring in a new pitching coach because the younger pitchers are not developing under Pete Walker.
I would like them to get Jim Hickey of Tampa. Double his salary and offer him the job over here.
It's a brutal world; but, baseball coaches are evaluated on the results they get and he's not getting enough out of his staff.
