That can be fixed but all this is beside the point. TERB and most of the Canadian adult sites will be accessible on the internet for many years to come. I'm quite sure about that. Maybe we'll screen members more rigorously and restrict access to long-term members only.
Good to know. :thumb:
TERB is the best thing to happen, taking a hit and miss mess into a sure way to connect with quality escorts.

I don't think there is any concern for forum sites or porn sites or the Toronto Sun ...unless I misread the bill.

It won't be the advertising host, it would be the advertiser LE wants. Its not too inconceivable for LE to have a court order asking for TERB to turn over the details they have about the person(s) who placed the ad...

If anything reliable sites like TERB will be more in demand in the future. Sites where members can interact privately with other trusted members and trusted sps.
Crap, I just looked at my join date and I suddenly feel old…

I can see your PM system getting one hell of a lot of traffic.

True enough, I was thinking about the can't advertise part of the bill. They would want the evidence and proof that they advertised on TERB (via exchange of money to place their add on the site). Just a screen shot wouldn't be enough they would want more, credit card records and the like - never too much evidence…

I think this new law boils down to stopping the clients at all costs, by criminalizing them and preventing them from getting the knowledge that SPs are offering services. Curtail demand and therefore minimize the number of providers.

easy enough, already discussed with my webmaster. I can have a basic page with my fully clothed, no porn type images, a list of required information and contact details. It will show that I've been verified on both Preferred411 and TER.

Once I have met a gentleman he can be provided with a password for access to my entire site, pics, reviews and my schedule. That way nobody I don't already know would have access to my location, images, or my detailed reviewed, which could be viewed advertising for the purpose of prostitution.
Well, we will all have to be more discreet.

The preference to have or see regulars will be more important for the hobby it seems.

No doubt there will be a few court cases and the law will be clarified that way.

I believe it is an offence to benefit from placing an ad too, unless you're the person selling sexual services yourself.

If the advertising medium is a website hosted in a foreign jurisdiction, they can't touch you, but local newspapers and the like won't be able to legally sell escort ads.

where police officers can infiltrate and mascarade as johns in order to get all the inside info and activity. just saying.

so yes, this site can become criminal aka illegal. its like a site discussing the exchange, manufacturing, distribution and production of marijuana, heroin, painkillers, etc etc etc.

or guns, gunpowder.

or bombs,

or bullying,

etc etc etc.

any site that discusses illegal substances or activity can be used against members as evidence. they posted online quotes on the newspapers now to prove criminal activity or as evidence as guilt.

any site like that can be shut down too.

just saying.

Playing Devil's advocate… You would be safe and wouldn't likely have a problem on the advertising question. Depending on how badly they clamp down on all of us, LE could get a court order and make you reveal your trusted password client list… You would be off the hook, but would we?

Damn… I gotta stop looking at your baseball pics… Its driving my other head insane...

The court order for release of a client list is a very interesting question!

Doesn't an escort have the right to privacy? She's not committing any offence.

Now we're talking about a bigger issue here? Can any lawyer chime in?

You're right behind me in the line elise.

I would tell any cop asking me what I'm doing leaving Jessica's incall that I'm very attracted to her brains and sense of humor.

I'm far from a lawyer, but I think there is a blurry line somewhere that has to be crossed before LE can demand info (I think this is where the judge decides if its valid). If you have evidence regarding a serious crime (e.g. murder) you may be obligated to tell. I know there are lawyer/client, doctor/patient, journalist/source privileges… can't remember hearing of a SP/client version however.

Is paying for play really a serious crime?

Still, having a criminal record for anything, isn't an option for many people - I'll stick to to the odd speeding / parking ticket thanks.

I don't want to even contemplate the though of being charged let alone being convicted by this law.
