And who wants to spend the time and money on another challenge?
Are you kidding? There are tons of lawyers who salivate about working on constitutional challenges like this and would gladly do this pro bono. The intervenors aren't going anywhere. How much money do you think Bedford spent on her case? Probably nothing. And Alan Young is a University professor and has an endless supply of free law students at his disposal.

Somewhere right now, our supreme draconian overlord Harper is sitting back in his wing chair, a twisted smile on his lips, and in his best "Mr. Burns" impression is saying "excellent!"
Or he's taking his wife to dinner hoping to get some nookie afterwards since, under the tabled bill, it would be deemed a criminal act for him ... and as long as nobody under the age of 18 could be reasonably expected to be present, the wifey would be free from any prosecution.

Or you advertise looking for men to be in a porno. You have to pay an agent 200 dollars to find you work. You can pick the girl you're with. Then you show up and get paid $20 for your time. Oh and they forgot to bring the camera in the room and turn it on.

It's funny how some people think they won't go after "reputable" escort agencies. As if there's really such a thing in the eyes of the people who want to criminalize prostitution.

what will happen to dancers, private dancing, boards, reviews. membership, Massage Parlours, strip bars, escort agencies, text messaging....... STILL as dark as last night.
It will probably go underground and be full of unsavoury characters like it is in the US.

They might but the injustice minister said that only those profiting from an exploitive relationship would be prosecuted. I think they haven't define things properly so that they can go after whoever they wish. Most importantly they haven't defined what is that they are banning (what is sexual services?)
Under the provisions of the bill johns will be prosecuted. You already know what sexual services are.

So, where are all the optimists who thought we we're over-reacting with our doom and gloom predictions, saying that the sky is falling? Well, the sky just fell.
Exactly... and to all those I say - told you so!

Thanks Harper for caving in to the church ladies and taking our sexual freedom back to the dark ages. Hopefully someone will expose and bust some of the many Conservative johns who also hobby, showing their hypocrasy.

Kinda.
It's wild that you can beat the shit out of somebody and receive a conditional or absolute discharge, but for prostitution related stuff there is a minimum punishment which is a criminal record. Wow!
Don't forget jail time. :frown:

Yeah. Seriously, this bill is really effed up. There is no mention of "prostitution" and instead talks about sexual services. There is a body of jurisprudence on what prostitution is and virtually none on sexual services. They basically decided to declare war on *all* sex work.
One wonders if internet dating sites might be swept up in this - sex might happen after money changes hands...

seriously I don't. Is contact dancing a sexual service?. Is kissing a sexual service?. Is oral sex a sexual service? The only thing I know for sure is sexual service is sexual intercourse is that all it is? I don't think those who go to strip bars are classified as johns. Are they?
If you have to ask yourself if it's a sexual service, it most likely is.

It sounds like you're kidding yourself into thinking a HJ or a BJ wouldn't potentially get you in hot water. Wishful thinking.

This is comments from Francios Boivin who for those who don't know is the Justice Critic for her Majesty's Official Opposition the NDP.

She does not think it will servive a court challenge and that it goes well past the Nordic model. If this is the thoughts of the NDPs Justice Critic then I doubt the NDP will be supporting this bill, which honestly maybe the real reason the Tories wrote this poorly written piece of shit, in the hopes of making the bill so odious that no one, even in a free vote within the NDP will support it, and thier for make the NDP out to be supporting prostitution.
On the other hand I see that cowardly faggot Justin Trudeau is once again too gutless to take a stand, saying he'll "wait to see the bill" (what's left to see?). It's enough to make me want to do the unthinkable and vote NDP.

If there are any Conservative parliamentarians who hobby, now might be the time for the SPs involved to break the confidentiality rule and out them.

Any Canadian who commits an illegal act outside of Canada is committing a crime, same rules, same punishment as if that person was in Canada.
Um, no. Generally: Criminal Code section 6(2): "Subject to this Act or any other Act of Parliament, no person shall be convicted... of an offence committed outside Canada."

There are special rules for aircraft and the international space station which are considered to be Canada, where Canadians are concerned.

No in all these years I have never opted for any of above services. I was asking about contact dancing, kissing.
Lap dancing is a sexual service. Back to stage shows with nipple pasties and thongs remaining on with no option for anything other than a table dance probably.

No in all these years I have never opted for any of above services. I was asking more about contact dancing and kissing.
I'd say if you can do it with your grandma it's not sexual. You are good.
