.... *sigh*, Thank goodness for the western conference. Still a shame the Ducks-Kings had to meet now, rather then the conference final. I still hope the Kings can take it to seven, and win that series.
Regardless, the winner of those two will make a great series with the Hawks. All three of the remaining teams in the west play such tough, and skilled games.

As for the East, the Pens and Bruins were an utter disappointment. Both had the talent and depth to easily put away their respective matchups, yet both lacked the desire and commitment. In fairness, the Rangers brought their best game to the Pens, the Habs however, were able to speed and finesse a Bruins club without the either their "A" game, or their best players in many games. Boston should feel no shame for losing to Montreal, the Habs have great chemistry. They should however be ashamed of the effort. In Game 7, from the first snow shower by Marchand, the tone of stupidity was set. Only Iginla was working his tail off.

This "Big" matchup of Boston-Montreal lacked all the emotion I'd hoped for. Instead it was water bottles and hype. Let the NYR-Montreal series please have a little more tension and passion pls.
As soon as I saw Marchand snow spray Price to start the second I felt they were done.
Price did not even react.

P.K. Subban is a superstar.

How did a Toronto boy end up in Montreal?
Via something call a 'draft'.

Lucic is a mutt. Perhaps if he was able to finish some of his scoring chances he'd be playing hockey instead of golf.

Boston just has too many cheap shot artists who were more intent on goonery than on using their exceptional talent to win games. Even Chara resulted to cheap shots in the end (unusual for him) when they got under his skin. Sure they're a tough team. The premature exit from the playoffs will be tougher. A much smaller, and less talented Habs team stayed focused, played as a team, and deserved the series. Frankly, I think it all boiled down to better game strategy and coaching from MTL. Boston leadership should point the finger at themselves first for not better managing the exceptional talent they have.

Rangers got better goal tending and some key bounces over a lethargic Pens team, probably tired after a long season which included the Olympics. With a few small breaks here and there, Pens could have taken the series too. It was pretty even with each team taking their turn to dominate at times. Either way, as a long time Rangers fan, I'm glad they're moving on, but unlikely they have any real shot at a cup this year given the talent in the West.

funniest thing for me was Don (ever a bruin) Cherry on coach's corner, pissing&moaning cuz the Habs weren't getting called for penalties on his bruins!
what a hypocrite!!big reason they won in 2011 was refs put away the whistles&it was open season on the canucks

as for lucic in the handshake line, does anyone really believe it's gonna be all sweetness&good luck being said after a tough series?if so, I've got a bridge
I can sell you cheap.

What are Boston fans thinking now ?
'Iginla scored ? why that ni... oh wait he plays for Boston, it is OK.'

Handshake shit ... it happens ... but maybe fans of the game expected a bit more from pretend tough guy Ballsy Lucic. The Billiards fan had seven games to do something on the ice and ... nothing, so like a 12 year old, Ballsy, gives the ' I will get you next year' threat. I wonder if he is related to the Wicked Witch ?
If I were Weise I would protect my balls from a stick assault from behind next season.

I agree with several other fans, this Bruins team lacked the desire, or passion if you prefer, one would expect from a Boston Montreal series.

To some it up ... it is nothing a squirt of water cannot fix. Subban just needs to dry his equipment for the next round beginning Saturday.

Didn't take long for winds of change to blow in Pittsburgh... GM Shero and Coach Bylsma fired after NYR beat Pens in 7 games.

Toronto should take a lesson from this, apparently mediocrity is not acceptable in other cities...
Agreed, but should be noted that the Pens rode out 5 seasons of underachieving playoff results before yanking the plug outta the wall. 'some' patience is needed, but five seasons is waay too long. For TML there should be a major house cleaning rather than constant indecisive 'tinkering' that nets little value added results.

Seems reports were premature. Bylsma not yet released...leaving the decision to keep him or drop him with the incoming GM. That's gotta suck for Byslma to twist for awhile, but nature of the beast and part of the game I guess.

Toronto should, because they can't make the playoffs, much less a contender. The Pens however, 'should' have won, but so too should the Sharks. Sometimes, its not in the cards.

The Pittsburgh GM has kept together a team which can contend for the cup yr after yr, and the coach had them near the top of the division. In the end, I'd hold the team accountable, not the GM or coach. Sid was not a leader in the NYR series.
But Kat, the team plays within the system the GM and coach define. If the coach in particular can't get the players to buy-in to the system and make it sing, you can't change all the players - something else has gotta give. After 5 seasons where they should have gone much much deeper, clearly the players are not bought in anymore. The GM also never addressed Fleury and the major goaltending problem that's been a long running pain in the ass. Vokoun's run was nice, but won't be any kind of platform solution, and the players don't look comfortable with Fleury between the pipes even if he did have a reasonable reg season this year. If you build and keep a team largely intact over multiple seasons, but you don't win, clearly you don't have the right team or system. Both should have been shuffled out.

What a suck
I think we're making way too much out of it. Hating the opposing player after heated battle is a hockey tradition. I got punched in the face by a centre after a high school game(!!). What really pissed me off was Subban ripping off Rodney Dangerfield with his "no respect" whining. Big baby, boo hoo. You won, shut your mouth!

Wherever I shouldn't be
Habs deserved to win, they kept the Bruins off their game. Whenever they seemed to be taking over the Habs countered, but..........
Price was the difference, funny people were questioning if he was good enough only a few months ago. He was textbook perfect in this series, and so far in these playoffs.

Weise is a P@#$y! Awww, the big bad Bruin threatened me? Really? Anyone who has ever passed through a handshake line knows it's not always pretty, and is probably the most ridiculous tradition in sports.

Lucic has poor judgement at times but he is decidedly not "a mutt". He is one of the very few players in hockey who can take over an entire game with clean physical play. He has an edge and definitely crosses the line at times but every single team in the NHL would love to have him.

What Grapes said in game 7 was 100% accurate. The officiating in the first period was reminiscent of the '70's. It was brutal. On the first penalty Marchand was mugged and went to the box. The snow penalty in a game 7 was just as ridiculous a call. That said, officiating didn't cost the Bruins the game, or the series.
The comment about the '11 final is insane. Alex Burrows BIT Bergeron!!!!! Aaron Rome gooned Horton, who has never been the same. WTF?

Ironhead, let the racism thing go. It was a few idiots. Again, you've obviously never been to Montreal. Or Toronto. or anywhere, for there are racist idiots everywhere. At least as many in Montreal as Boston.

Habs won, they deserved it! Bruins were sadly passive. There really wasn't much dirty hockey in this series. Thornton's water bottle incident was asinine, but he didn't bite anyone!

PK Subban is a very good offensive defenseman who is well known as a defensive liability. He is also an idiot. That has nothing to do with race, or team allegiance. I'm a Bruins fan. I think Marchand is an idiot, but I'd rather have him with me than against me. That's how i feel about Subban as well.
