Although it saddens me that there are areas in the USA - a nation in which 1/3 of the population rejects Evolution, and that has not yet adopted the metric system - that are much more progressive than Canada.

1 the ledain commission established by trudeau recommended its legalization and is still referred to as one of the the best studies ever done

2 the selling of seeds and paraphernalia has always been legal and the penalties for simple possession has always been less than the USA
3 it is still a federal crime in the USA and those who feel they have the protection of individual state laws
may find themselves in prison even if it is medical dope while in canada you have no fear of arrest for medical dope
4 pressure from nixon, reagan and those sorts has kept the canadian government from legalization
5 have they not had pot cafe in Vancouver for some time????
6 it is individual state laws that legalize the vices such as prostitution, gambling, dope not the federal gov which is more conservative than ours
