If I am not the most dedicated Leafs fan here then I am on par with whoever, so let me be the first(well maybe not the first) to say the Hawks were
not on their A game tonight.

But who cares, Leafs won big ! That is the most important thing.

7-3 .... D'Amigo with his first NHL goal(hope there are many more to come), Holland and Lupul two each. Raymond and Lupul each had a four point night.
Leafs out shot 28-25 .... out shot and win over tough opponent ... things are getting back to normal. :D

A good confidence builder is the fact they did not let the opposition make it a one goal game and end up barely holding on or winning in OT.
For every Chicago goal the Leafs answered. Bernier was very good ... mind you I only saw the first period and most of second. Cable decided to go on vacation at this point.

Clarkson is useless. I wouldn't play him once he comes back from suspension.
Leafs are 8-3 without him. 9-11-3 with him.
look at how raymond and lupul were flying tonight. raymond just didn't mesh with molasses clarkson at all.
clarkson belongs in the press box or the 4th line.
They should sit Fraser and Ranger for the next game too. Ranger is a liability every time he is on the ice. Fraser is not the same player from last year. Both guys are too slow to handle the opposition players.
Fraser and Ranger would been very slow against a fast Blackhawks teams. However it was the Leafs flying tonight (or last night).
Agreed with all this, they were better without Clarkson, Fraser and Ranger. The younger guys made some gaffes but also made it up with speed. great game.

I would not give up on any of the three, Clarkson, Ranger or Fraser.
I would sit Fraser for a week to 10 days, then ease him back. Make sure he is good to go.
I think Ranger is just starting to play better and like I have said before, I will give him the season.
Clarkson will figure it out I am sure.

What he'll figure out is that he's a player with a career average of less than 0.4 pts/gm and a career minus (playing for New Jersey) in +/-.

Apparently Leafs' management think that's worth $5+M/yr for 7 years.

PW
Looking at the Devils this year, 2/3 of the team are in the negative +/-. No big deal.

What is not understood here is that David Clarkson's career stats have nothing to do with this season's stats for the Devils - as he doesn't play for them this season.

PW
Then again PW commented on his worth to TO based on a comparison with his stats with NJ, team that played a different style of hockey and where he had an even worse +/-. He very much middle of the pack on TO, but certainly not useless.

Leafs should win this one easy, Panthers have won 3 in a row but have a cream puff offence and leafs should score more than enough goals to win this one.

Not according to the oddsmakers. Bet365.com has the game as a pick'em -110 either way.

Better hope for a big 3rd period Saxon.

3-0 Panthers after 2.

As Harry Neal says they are losing practically every battle for the puck in their own zone and are generally a step behind tonight.

Is this the team that trounced Chicago.
If they lose, oh well, but as I said I'm not a leaf fan so I'll take comfort in the fact they lost. Don't ask me to explain why I bet on the leafs if I'm not a fan as I can't figure that one out myself. lol

Because when it comes to betting you stop being a fan, or non, and become objective.

I expected a win too, and honestly thought Toronto would win by a few. Panthers have fragile defense, not much offense, and Toronto has been playing great.. Someone forgot to tell Florida I guess.
go figure I bet the hawks the other night and the broncos on Thur. and Arsenal on Sat. All losers, not a good week. lol

Someone should have told the Leafs they are playing Florida.
Losing to Pittsburgh is one thing, but losing to Florida is disappointing.

Leafs still holding onto final playoff spot while waiting on the injured to return.
Still along way to go and the Olympic break coming up.
