I guess my final hope, of the Jays beating the Yankees, is just a dream.
They will never again beat the Yankees. Let me tell you a story. Once upon a time, there was a pitcher for the Boston Red Sox called Ruth who was traded to the Yankees. And as he stood on the caboose of the New York train, he cursed the team which had traded him and the City of Boston and told them they would never again beat the Yankees in the playoffs or win a World Series title until the millennium had fully passed.

Over 80 years later, another pitcher called Clements was traded to the Yankees, this time by the Blue Jays and as he stood on the caboose of the New York train, he.....

shows the sad state of the organization when Pillar is the top prospect
Give the kid a chance. He's up here to learn and you expect him to be a star. Check out Roy Halladay's early years. They probably showed the sad state of the organization at that time.

Oh please, it's Musical Scrubs...
Gose/Pillar/Thole, please pass the mescaline, baby.

These guys couldn't carry Rob Ducey's jockstrap...
It's what "prospects" look like when not in Top 50.

Ya baby, Halladay had that one terrible year 2000...
But always had that stable psychological makeup of an All-Star...
This is no Ricky Romero... one "supermodel" away from Bisons/hookers/blow/suicide.

Here
With the DL growing by leaps and bounds, when does Gibbons get to be placed on it?

Had the BJ's put him on it -- maybe even the 60 Day List -- back in April, the team would probably be much further ahead.

Good one.

It crossed my mind, and all agree Gibbons is a good, decent man, that he may resign instead of making AA fire him.

Whether he's fired or resigns he won't be getting another shot as a MLB manager.

Izturis now on the DL and they've called up another prospect nobodys heard of. This club is turning into a triple A team.

Are you serious? You recognized Halladay had the stable psychological makeup of an All-Star? WTF does that mean ?

With respect to the others, your "scrubs", they are giving their best effort and if they have been put in a situation they can't handle it's not their fault. A little support may help instead of having some wannabe armchair critic like yourself who has no knowledge about baseball put them down because he is keyboard big shot.
BTW-how did you recognize that about Halladay when you didn't watch the Jays during that point in time? Remember your story? Let me refresh your memory.

"I listened/watched to 99% of Jays games 1977-1994...
And then switched to basketball circa 1995..."

Hmmm. I think I've discovered bullshit.

Don't kid yourself.

Sparky Anderson himself couldn't have done any better with this team.

Guys....does it really matter at this point??? Who cares? The season is done and over with. Might as well bring up prospects, let them get a feel for the majors as well as see what they can do. It's not like all these guys going on the DL just knocked us out of the playoff race.

Ya man, Joe Girardi has the not-much-better Yankees back in the playoff race...
While the rudderless, floudering Jays accelerate their Death Spiral...
And Jays fans double down on their Loser Mentality.

For those who don't know I am a lifelong Yankee fan and faithfully watch every one of their games.

While they have had their fill of positional injuries this year, their starting pitching has been fairly healthy.

That combined with some timely hits from some off the scrap heap veterans has somehow managed to keep them in contention.

Don't get me wrong Girardi is a good manager but when you know who you are running out there every 5th day and your bullpen is rested and productive it makes things much easier. Gibbons right now has nether.

Don't think it mattered who managed this group of players they weren't what everyone thought.
despite every journalist and broadcaster all saying this, the word is that they may fire him just to appease the fans.

Sad that all these fans bitching and wining are going to cost this guy his job when despite the true knowledgable people knowing it had nothing to do with him. Steven Brunt said sources are saying they litterally might make a sacrafice and do it just for the fans despite the organization not believing it was his fault.

somebody has to be the lamb and I doubt it will be the guy that made the trades, signed the free agents and hired the manager.

Is there any doubt that Gibbons and Walker are going to gassed. Unbelievable how this team has crashed and burned in recent weeks.

I don't like him as a manager. Sometime in the last week or two, Jays were down 1 run, and had runners on 1st and 2nd with no outs. I don't care who is coming to bat, there needs to be a sacrifice. Instead, everyone swung away. Three straight outs, and another loss.

Of course the Jays would still stink with another manager, but something has to change.

I agree. Probably more important to get a bona fide pitching coach...but they both have to go. Hentgen could get promoted to pitching coach....I am still wondering how the former 11th man on a pitching staff is now the coach. Hentgen has Cy Young credentials.....and there have to be many better managers out there than John Gibbons. Gibbons is a good guy...let him manage in the minor leagues
