Here
I seriously doubt Boston would give up a good 2nd baseman in a time where good ones are tough to find. Who would they replace him with? Boston would take JB just would not trade Pedroia to do it.
So the question resolves itself to whether the gain in offense is more valuable to the team than the loss in defense...

King Felix was pitching for Seattle tonight...so next tuesday Josh Johnson vs. King Felix Hernandez....get your bets down......actually you gotta feel for JJ....this guy has been an ace and was supposed to be again.....now he makes Ricky Romero's 2012 season look respectable

My prediction is that Johnson will not make another start for the Blue Jays again this year. Be it an "injury", sent to the pen or even the minors, they've got to do something with him as they can't continue to trot him out there on a weekly basis. But perhaps this is just wishful thinking on my part.

I think everybody now concedes that 2013 is a lost cause.
Must be tough on management and players when the season is a lost cause and there are still 60 games left. Expectations are low and pressure to win is even lower. Some players might just try to enhance their own personal stats.

Ok, so would you trade Bautista for Pedroia? Keeping in mind the need for a second baseman. Just curious. With all of JB's skills, the Jays are still mired in last place, and they weren't doing any worse without him when he was injured.
If you wanted to know if I would trade Bautista for Pedroia why would you suggest trading Bautista for Kinsler. I don't know of many people who thing Pedroia and Kinsler are equals.
Just curious-how did Boston fare last year with all of DP's skills?
It's a team game.

Why would you say something stupid like stupid? When a team is so far behind in the standings the pressure to win is not the same as trying to clinch a playoff spot. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if Jay management and the players have considered 2013 a write-off.
Why do you think you are such an expert on MLB?

P.S. Maybe the Jays can play the role of spoiler.
Don't recall where I said I was an expert on MLB. I am more knowledgeable than you are. That is essentially meaningless based upon your comments on this board.

As long as we have to face Felix. I'd rather write the game off than lose a quality stert by another pitcher.
But I have a feeling they may hang up JJ as well. Right now when I see him I feel like I'm watching a baby chick being tossed into a pihranna tank....

The JJ situation is not really that urgent - sadly. The Jays are well out of the WC race and they have no young aces chomping at the bit in AAA. May as well take your lumps w Johnson.

They have to get him out of the line up. Supposedly his legs are bothering him and if that is the case DL and try someone else (not Romero!)
He is being embarrassed and so is the club and his team mates. The fans are being short changed as well. Johnson should be on the DL until
he is 100% healthy. Maybe then he can give you a half decent outing and increase his value.

I was happy to hear they put Melky on the 15 day DL. He looked like he played senior slo-pitch. Having him in the outfield last night did not help
Johnson out either.

Such a disappointing year and I still have tickets to see more of that crap.

I've been sooo stupid lately by chasing JJ anytime he pitched. He cost me soooooooo much money already!!!!!!! Very sad, indeed.
The Jays should try Romero for the first 2 innings then bring in JJ to finish the game. It might work, right? Or,try a different catcher for JJ next turn. Anything,anything...please! Oh,wait I don't feel sorry for Johnson,he makes millions while screwing up his team and the fans.

It is very painful. I think that's why Gibby finally pulled him and used up the 'Pen last night. It was just too cruel leaving JJ out there to be beaten and humiliated. But I hated the fact they blew 3 relievers for multi inning appearances on a game already lost by the 3rd inning.

Re Melke, at least now they can run out Rajai every game and get a running game going. Head's up - Davis is a free agent after this season. Anyone else think the Jays should re-sign him and make him an everyday player??

Here
Current BJ's mathematical equations:

Cabrera + Bonifacio = 0

Lawrie + Arencibia = -1

Johnson + Romero = unmitigated disaster.

How can all this happen to one team in one season?
