Todays game shows that it's clear on any given day any team can beat any team and also how string the Orioles, Rays, Yankees and Sox are. Oakland is no slouch.

I forgot the full exact stats, but something like a 1/3 of the Jays games are decided in the final inning.

Good win but here are some observations.

1) 4 errors, ok so the sun was a factor.
2) Dickey pitched well.
3) The Jays are so far behind that they are probably playing loose.
4) Nobody got hurt even though Dickey and Lawrie collided.

Actually, I think the Jays match up well w the A's. The A's are offensively too inept to rock the Jays dubious starters whereas the A's need stellar pitching to get past their opponents and haven't been getting it in the last couple of games. The O's, Bosox and even TB can hit the ball far better than the A's.

Good win is right. I am getting my application for the Colby Rasmus fan club. Cant figure Oakland though...the Rangers and Angels look like better teams....but Oakland just wins

You can call Big Popi soft if you want to, I wont.

He's one exceptionally scary dude when he loses it. Notice that John Farrell's heart was in his mouth when he got between Ortiz and the ump. There is a reason why he's stuck with the Red Sox and Manny hasn't, he's a gentleman off the field. And he's generous with his time, especially with players struggling to make it to the Majors.

Actually 4 errors so fielding was a factor.
What basis do you have for stupid statement #3?
It is true that nobody got hurt even though there was a collision. So what?

You know nothing about baseball at the major league level.

Why would you say something stupid like stupid? When a team is so far behind in the standings the pressure to win is not the same as trying to clinch a playoff spot. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if Jay management and the players have considered 2013 a write-off.
Why do you think you are such an expert on MLB?

P.S. Maybe the Jays can play the role of spoiler.

I think everybody now concedes that 2013 is a lost cause. Whether this makes Dickey and Johnson any "looser" is questionable, as they have reputations and careers on the line. Buehrle maybe not so much and Melke, who knows?

Last time we checked on Lawrie and Bautista, they didn't seem that loose either.

Kinsler is a nice solid player. Jose Bautista is one of the top offensive forces in baseball and an accomplished defensive player. You would be an idiot to make that trade.
BTW-how's Oakland's easy sweep coming along?
Ok, so would you trade Bautista for Pedroia? Keeping in mind the need for a second baseman. Just curious. With all of JB's skills, the Jays are still mired in last place, and they weren't doing any worse without him when he was injured.

hey guys..would like to be the first to bring this up with regard to the biogenesis situation. Wouldn't that be fun if either JB or EE is on THE LIST of suspended players for juicing?
Yeah, you hear this from me first! LOL...

The rumour mill would have leaked it first.

Not so sure about that... if JB were "on," he could hit 50 a year over the Green Monster.
A right handed power hitter in Fenway Park would be a dream come true for the Red Sox but Pedroia brings a lot of intangibles and chemistry to the team. Old MLB proverb: "Never break up a winning combination".

how did we get rid of yan gomes again? this is a second time I watch him on tv with the indians and he looks pretty good behind the plate. AA picked Arencibia instead. I like to see Arencibia traded during the winter.

After the 2012 season, the Blue Jays traded Gomes and Mike Aviles to Cleveland for Esmil Rogers.

Quietly, Santos up, McGowan DL!

Perry
Unfortunately, not a surprise. DMcG was noticeably losing effectiveness as time went on. Wonder if this is it for his arm.

There is of course no way either team would cut a major deal of that calibre with a division rival. And yes, Bautista could make a career of pulling high flies over or off the monster and make his current stats look puny by comparison.
