24 points in 20 games ... I read that is the exact same amount as last year at the same point ...
The problem last year was that the season was 30 games too long. That won't be a problem this year.
I always thought that the hockey season was too long for any team to go undefeated (like in football) but the Blackhawks would have an undefeated season if it is only 19 games.

I think the reason it may not happen again will be the coach also the fact that if you play bad your in the press box .. Also the pickering with GM/coach with media doesn't exist also the pickering between coach and goalie coach doesn't exist . It seems like a different atmosphere this year

Next game Montreal on Wednesday night, in NY the next night to play the Islanders.
The Leafs get the weekend off before the Devils visit the ACC on Monday night.

I expect a spirited game at the ACC tomorrow night.
I would love to see a repeat of the 6-0 win over Montreal with the beatdowns and everything.

I actually like the shorter NHL season. Every game is meaningful and the players look less worn out. Also, there is still baseball and football during October to January so still enough sports on TV or live.

I like the fact that teams are only playing within the conference .. Every night it seems a game is being played which effects the Leafs ie the teams under the Leafs or ahead of the Leafs and so it makes every game important seven nights of the week .

The compact schedule has it's pros and cons.

Pros;
- Your team plays everyother night or so it seems. Leafs are about to get the whole (three day)weekend off.
- Games mean more.
- Eastern Conference only schedule means Eastern time start for all games.

Cons;
- More chance of injury and injuries have more impact.
- Not much chance for practise.
- Team depth much more important.

they are starting to follow the same pattern again... they start out good... ok... then they just fall apart close to the end. they'll probably make to the play offs but lose in the first round. they are still a disappointment. i don't even know why people still go out and buy tickets to see them lose over and over again.

stanley cup comin to toronto? dream on!

now in goal for 'trawna' wearing # 30, bruce gamble.
I loved Bruce Gamble.
His sideburns and little curl at the front, the prototypical east coaster.
When i was a kid and played net in streethockey, I was always Bruce Gamble, I was such a homer.

Phaneuf looked bad out there, but he wasn't alone in this respect. Just one bad game, let's hope.
He makes a lot of fundamental, positional mistakes.
I don't know why he gets all that ice time.
I don't expect him to go out and fight, but he looked bad backing away from Prust like that. That's not captain material in my opinion.

I love it !

First round pick Kadri with a hattrick !

Reimer gets the win first game back !

Captain Dion Phaneuf scores the winner in OT.

Go Leafs !

Glad to see Kadri shine, especially when he was on the shit list during the previous reign and never given a good shot.

Far from an impressive win against a team that is mediocre at best.

How many times did Reimer get beaten up high from the outside? 3 out 4? First goal was not his fault.
