You should create a poll and see if TERB members really support OG2.
Would it really make a difference? The Mods do not seem willing to even tell OG2 what he did wrong other than "name calling" on his login page. That's a lifetime ban? A few of us would be gone if that was true.

Again, Mods, any chance you'll reconsider your decision given the support demonstrated here? Or are we all just wasting our time talking about it?

And often times the enforcement of those rules seems ... a little spotty.
Considering I found a two threads where OG2 is called a "motherfucker" and those members, who are continually offesnive to everyone are still active....yeah.

And if the member in question DID contact Fred Zed and got no response?

His prerogative.
True enough. So the statement in your guidelines that reads:

"As a general principle TERB administration will not publicly discuss the reasons behind their decisions to discipline a user. That is a matter between TERB and that user only."

should really read "That is a matter between TERB and that user only, if we feel like answering."

Fair enough, as pointed out Mods have ultimate authority.

Actually Fred has the ultimate authority. We serve as moderators at his pleasure.

Also a lot of the reviews come from fake or duplicate handles - am I allowed to point this out? I know one member has over 30 handles and responds to himself from his different handles. And a lot of other issues with reviews (ulterior motives, discounts, & spite) and I don't think the mods could really control it, people are going to do what they want to do if they really want to. But for that reason most of the guys I meet tell me they don't read reviews and wouldn't believe a word of it if they did.
Does this member that you know see you as a client? If so, please be careful......anyone who has that many handles and responds to himself I would suggest has some mental issues.

I know one member has over 30 handles and responds to himself from his different handles.

So I would say TERB advertising is profitable but the business that comes from reviews is a very small percentage, 10% at the most.
Actually, the only way someone would get away with 30 handles is if they are admin or moderator of the site, or if the site has allowed them to.
That said it is quite possible to sign up a few different accounts from different computers. I think the providers that are most impacted by reviews are those
who offer bad service. If you are an attractive SP who offers good service most of your business will come from repeat clients and you can definitely thrive without any reviews.

And Btw: Tiffanyblack Mod100 is right, the only way to change your ip is either by calling your ISP, or you can try doing it yourself by resetting your Modem but there is NO guarantee with this method you will be successful unless you have some background in Network administration.

I do. So do many others on this board including the member with 30 handles lol.

You don't even have to change it...
I think you are referring to proxy ips, many of those are blocked here at terb and just using one is enough reason to be banned. I am just telling you the facts as I know them since I have access to a member database with more than 300 000 ips and I run into ip-related issues almost daily. And no one can get away with 30 handles at terb, if someone has convinced you otherwise they are obviously lying to you. The vast majority of reviewers will not even admit to SPs that they use the boards.

This means OG2 can enjoy this thread about him, without a login. I'm sure he'd have a clever 1-liner about this prob including the phrase "circle jerk" :)

Re: Ads and reviews: Someone who's banned can still read most of the board. The exception is the review section. I would think this would also apply to people who haven't signed up for an account.

I actually seldom have the opportunity to entertain TERB users. 80% of my guests aren't on the boards and the 20% that are come from another board but some of them have accounts here as well. I do track my advertising closely so I know where to spend my advertising $. I advertise here to brand incase I decide to start traveling and so that I can participate in the threads that catch my eye. The boards have never been a source of income for me but I don't mind supporting them financially as they are a great source of entertainment and cheaper per month than a good dinner out. I will reiterate that the MODs have a thankless job and I admire their resiliency. I don't have the patience to do what they do...

I would wager that a great many TERB members would chose not to identify themselves to you. (I've only ever identified my TERB alias to 2 working girls.)

TERB??

What's that?

The few discussions I've had with the mods and Fred have been productive. They do accept reasonable discussion and have been known to reconsider initial decisions. It's not alway cut and dry.
