The few discussions I've had with the mods and Fred have been productive. They do accept reasonable discussion and have been known to reconsider initial decisions. It's not alway cut and dry.

And Btw: Tiffanyblack Mod100 is right, the only way to change your ip is either by calling your ISP, or you can try doing it yourself by resetting your Modem but there is NO guarantee with this method you will be successful unless you have some background in Network administration

Isnt there a 2nd way forums can spot you through something called a MAC address?!

Tiffany is correct on this point. I bet I can create thirty logins with private and public emails like gmail and so on, then use proxies or tor to use them on TERB. You may block known IP proxy services but there are many services you do not block.

Of course, if you did bet you would put extra security checks and manual review in place, so lets make it simple: I can creat seven logins and use them in the next week. I do that, OG2 is reinstated when I show you the logins and proof of activity and you don't ban or suspend him again. Then I will show you how i could do it with thirty logins in more time. And we do the proof here in an open forum for verification by TERB members.

This girl hits the nail on the head, most reviews are BS or exaggerated, nice to hear it from a girl though, I've said it before but get pounced on. You're also at the higher end of the price scale which also wouldn't attract too many terb members.

My experience is diametrically opposite. I check the reviews carefully, making sure to find more than one source. And I do my best to look through the history of the posts from the person supplying the review. I hobby (MPA and/or SP) once or twice a week. I have had two bad experiences this year. One was entirely my fault, a BP adventure and nothing to do with Terb. This place is an amazing resource if it used properly.

My point wasn't really that this is going on I was just pointing out reasons why a lot of people don't read reviews or don't believe them. It doesn't matter if people admit they are a reviewer... When I've had reviews whether positive or not so much it hasn't made a difference business wise so I was just agreeing with somebody who said business from reviews is about 10%. I didn't say only 10% have terb or view ads on terb. If that were the case I wouldn't be an advertiser.

Why are you so adamant that OG2 be allowed back? It's not like he has no other place to go. Like someone said, he went to the other board. And if you miss him that much, there is no one/nothing to stop you from joining the other board. The mods have made their decisions (and will not definitely change it, especially because of this thread) so now it's up to you to decide what you want to do - stay and accept the decision or think the mods are f@cking up this forum and go somewhere else (blue board).

Dulynoted I was simply referencing a previous post within this thread about the possibility that the reason he was banned was bc he was using his handle for the promotion of a spa (referral to flirt) for the advantage of the spa.. An advantage that was seen as unfair. If that's the case then the mods saw it as thier right to ban him. To which I agree. If he does in fact go to flirt to see anna then being banned from terb won't stp that. Nor should it. He has the right to go n see who he wants/when/where just like the rest of us. I also have seen Anna on more then one occassion. I think is she a very good mpa. So imo he's spending his time wisely. Which I am sure has zero to do with his being banned.

Again IF he was using his handle in such a way that goes against the rules n regulations of this board then hats off to the mods for banning him. I would hope that would b the case for anyone that breaks the rules. That's what keeps the board inline and enjoyable. I for one will never know the real reason why he was banned. Unless the mods public say. Which I would hope they didn't as there should b some level need to know basis. And the truth is, again IMO, in this case the rest of the board doesn't really need to know.

Re: IP addresses displayed to Mods: I'm a moderator of another board unrelated to this industry, and I'm also a member of a few private torrent sites where the members can see their IP address on their profile page. In all cases, the IP address shown is not the same one I see if I run ipconfig in DOS command prompt, and a different IP address is shown on each of those sites. They are, however, consistent from day to day.

That's probably because ipconfig is giving you the ip address of your device on the LAN, and your web facing IP is the IP of the gateway device you use to connect to the internet. Even if you only have a laptop with wifi and a router in the corner, congratulations you're on a LAN. Getting you web facing IP is trivial enough, you can either look it up on your gateway device (or a router connected to a gateway device), or use a site like: http://www.whatismyip.com/

Generally speaking most ISPs rotate IPs on their modems / connected devices on a fairly regular schedule muti-day schedule. It keeps people from trivially setting up home servers, and helps free up IPv4 addresses. Any gateway device you have, that uses that singular connection, will show that web facing IP, with whatever you're using for routing to route the data to the right place. Assuming people aren't using various forms of proxies, most people will have between 1 to 3 unique IPs to work with at a time. (Internet, phone's 'data' plan, and maybe a work phone or web dongle). Combine that with the data browsers and gateway devices leak (by design), and it should be pretty easy to hunt down sock puppets (multiple handles).

Even if you are using a fairly random proxy, you can use things like geoip to red flag 'world traveller' accounts. A normal user probably won't be in Spain, Ukraine, and Brazil withing 48 hours of each other. Writing a php or python script to hunt down 'world travellers' via geoip would be trivial, if they don't exist already. You could try to restrict the randomizing proxy to Canadian IPs, but even then a clever geek could check the timezone from the geoip data, or (more processing intensive) look up distance between where the connections are originating from...

That's ignoring trying to detect the use of a proxy in the first place, etc.
