Here is a related question with an unusual twist. Have you ever seen an SP/MPA/Dancer "in the wild" with a civilian who you also know:Eek:? Happened to me once.
Something similar happened to me once. In November, 1992, I went to a
Leafs - Penguins game at
Maple Leaf Gardens with
Mika, a gorgeous
Filapina-French exotic dancer who worked at many different clubs from 1991 to early 1993, (
Fillmore's,
HOL Queensway, and
Runway 66, among others).
I knew she was a huge fan of
Mario Lemieux and
Jaromir Jagr. In April, 1992 I had traveled to Niagara Falls, NY to see the
American Gladiators live tour. When I told her about that, she said "
I wish you had told me before. I would have totally gone with you!".
When I saw the
Leafs 1992-93 schedule, I noted when the
Penguins would be in town, and I called in a favour at work, and was able to get the
Teamsters Local Union's season's tickets for that game, first row Reds, right on the blue line. I had great tickets for a game against the
Stanley Cup champs, and I wanted to be there with the hottest woman I knew.
I then spent about two weeks trying to find which club she was dancing at, eventually finding her at
Tony's East, about a week before the game, where she accepted my invitation. This was to be a one time
friend zone civilian date, (not
take out), and understood to be exactly that by both of us.
I gave her one of the tickets, so she could meet me at the game. She showed up near the end of the first period, as she had been outside helping two of her friends obtain scalped tickets, (scalper prices drop dramatically, after the game has started).
Mika was wearing a
Mario Lemieux game shirt, and her two friends, (whom I met after the game), were dressed as
Jagr and
Paul Coffey. I was wearing a V-Neck powder blue sweater, which I said was the '1967-68
Ken Schinkel' jersey.
I brought a bag of pistachio nuts, which we shared during the game. I told
Mika that "If we were on
Studs, (a "dating game" TV show from that era), one of the questions for 'which guy said it?' would be
"One taste of my salty nuts, and I had her eating out of the palm of my hand".
Anyway, after Pittsburgh scored a goal,
Hockey Night In Canada put the two of us on TV for a couple of seconds. People at work told me they'd seen me on TV, and
Mika's friends told her the same thing, but neither group knew we were there together.
