I tip really well. Usually in the 20-25% range in North America when the service is good. 10% when not. Once, I tipped a penny to communicate my displeasure. Aside: it was interesting how quick she was to call me on it but ignored me the entire dinner service. But I only tip those in the food service industry or anyone I ask to carry my luggage or my barber. For example I don't taxi drivers at all, I don't tip valets (I'm already paying significantly extra - that's the tip), or doormen, or bell hops (I just refuse their service). Tipping is getting out of hand and service is not improving. I don't tip at all in most foreign countries, which actually bothers me since service in Canada amounts to shitty entitlement attitudes.
