you are really stretching to prove a stupid point. i am amazed how desperate you are to prove your job is at the bottom of the list of skill required. So the prerequisite skill is having stayed out of a grave for 25 years. You sir are talented.

I don't believe it is. However, I find it amusing that a truck driver feels that he is the authority on the matter. (Sorry about the earlier comments about your grammar. Didn't realize who I was talking to)you are really stretching to prove a stupid point. i am amazed how desperate you are to prove your job is at the bottom of the list of skill required.
Are you sticking your chest out as you type this. Simon is my favourite driver... Do the boxes tell you that? Guess I won't apply for any of these jobs... I'm over-qualified.started my work life with a deck company- assistant head supervisor in 6 months.
worked for a tree company- site supervisor in 7 months.
drove a cab- top earner in the company in 3 months.
worked for a paving company- top driver in 2 months.
molson- top shunter in 1 year.
current company- top and favorite driver in less than a year.
how about you try again.
bosses tell me that by paying me more than the other guys and giving me the cake runs. boxes tell me nothing. i would love to see you try and do what i do, guaranteed you either don't get moving or if you do you kill someone or yourself by the end of the day.Are you sticking your chest out as you type this. 25 year old kids?they hire kids right out of driving school not high school. you can't get a job in this industry if you are under 25.
i have been carrying food since i was in single digits in age i would say i am as much an authority in it as you are.I don't believe it is. However, I find it amusing that a truck driver feels that he is the authority on the matter. (Sorry about the earlier comments about your grammar. Didn't realize who I was talking to)
really ? alright i am done with you. you're acting like a 13 year old girl and have become really annoying.25 year old kids?
I doubt you could do my job. Few of your jobs actually require people and math skills.bosses tell me that by paying me more than the other guys and giving me the cake runs. boxes tell me nothing. i would love to see you try and do what i do, guaranteed you either don't get moving or if you do you kill someone or yourself by the end of the day.
No wait! Come back! I thought I was dealing with an educated/skilled person (I assume TERBites are). Now I wanna ride you like you like a freight truck.really ? alright i am done with you. you're acting like a 13 year old girl and have become really annoying.
lol okay champ. lets move on your bitterness is showing.I doubt you could do my job. Few of your jobs actually require people and math skills.
We do the same job. I carry cake, you drive it.
My bitterness? You began the name-calling.lol okay champ. lets move on your bitterness is showing.
actually i didn't. seriously dude let it go.My bitterness? You began the name-calling.
like i said earlier, i tend to be a regular at places and if you give an above average tip you get better treatment. i go in, sit down, order without looking at the menu, eat and out in less than an hour. leaving a good tip means i get better service than the average person and no spit in my food. That is a 64% tip. A tip should be based on the service provided not your ability to pay. 15% average service, 20 % above average service, above this there has to be something extraordinarily provided by the server and I don't mean FS.
Agreed. 64% is great, but that should in no way be expected. As a server, I follow my percentages over extended periods (shift and week), but am not put off if someone leaves $1 on a single glass of wine. Percentage is a guide, but a server will lose his/her mind if they dwell on every table. That is a 64% tip. So if a 'gateway' is what you want, you need to look further into the hospitality industry. I understand what you are trying to say, but your idea of a 'gateway' leaves much to be desired; nor does it apply to hospitality. The difference between driving a truck and serving food is clear. To drive his truck, Simon needed to take a course at a certified school, and pass a government-test to be issued a government licence. That makes him semi-skilled labour. To serve food, no training or formal accreditation is required. That makes it unskilled labour. Anecdotes about how difficult it is to work in the food industry or how dumb some truck drivers are, do not negate the fact that anyone can obtain a job as a waiter, whereas a gateway must be passed through, in order to drive a truck. Sorry, but that's the reality.
you taught me a lesson. that lesson is that all servers are all ungrateful and angry. so i went out for lunch today, food and drinks=20$ she got the quarter and 3 nickels in my pocket. pizza delivery guy just showed up 17$ and he had to go up 3 flights of stairs to bring it to me. he got the .50 cents i had on the table. i just want to thank you again for teaching me these things. it sure makes my life easier. So if a 'gateway' is what you want, you need to look further into the hospitality industry. You do realize you're sticking up for a drop-out??
Perhaps you missed more in highschool than the scholarly portion (I'm referring to the life/people skills which include 'reasoning'). You call me angy and bitter, but have nothing to say about the posters who constantly bring up 'the issue with tipping' every other week. I am neither bitter or angry. I actutually like my job and, unlike you, do not feel the need to look at other people's line of work and critisize it (which is very common symptom of someone who is angry and/or bitter; to judge others as less than them).you taught me a lesson. that lesson is that all servers are all ungrateful and angry. so i went out for lunch today, food and drinks=20$ she got the quarter and 3 nickels in my pocket. pizza delivery guy just showed up 17$ and he had to go up 3 flights of stairs to bring it to me. he got the .50 cents i had on the table. i just want to thank you again for teaching me these things. it sure makes my life easier.
cool. now they get nothing. your skilled brethren will be sending you thank you notes in the mail i'm sure. they can live on the hourly rate they don't need to beg for extra's anymore. never know where i pop up but since i don't know you i wouldn't know and neither would you if i walked in. unless you keep talking then i am the guy that dined and dashed.Perhaps you missed more in highschool than the scholarly portion (I'm referring to the life/people skills which include 'reasoning'). Now you decide to take out your online frustration on people who you would have otherwise treat differently. Nice logic bud. Keep that up. Teach it to your kids. Keep up the 'shitty tipping' (you likely won't at this place you claim to be a regular at), the chances of you walking into the place where I work is slim-to-none.
Delusions of grandeur strike again. Sure they'll send me notes. Just like your $17 and $20 bills will make a difference. I suggest you do not dine in the same place twice. I've never 'gotten even' but I'm nicer than some.cool. now they get nothing. your skilled brethren will be sending you thank you notes in the mail i'm sure. they can live on the hourly rate they don't need to beg for extra's anymore. never know where i pop up but since i don't know you i wouldn't know and neither would you if i walked in. unless you keep talking then i am the guy that dined and dashed.
