I saw Raiders of the Lost Ark in theatres four times.
Wizard of Oz and The Ten Commandments ar also my top two most seen on television
On video it is probably Grease, which I know pretty much line for line.
Stripes was the first movie I ever owned on video and over the years must have seen it well over 50 times. Still funny after all those times seeing it.

Let me count the ways . . .
1. TSS is in b/w.
2. The dialog is in Japanese, with subtitles.
3. The music pales to nothing in comparison with Elmer Bernstein's masterpiece.
4. The acting is below average. It actually looked to me like over-the-top over-acting, but that's probably the different culture.
TMS actors are top drawer. Always go by cast! Very few films, ever, have had such a stellar cast. Many of the stars were at start of their career (when they were cheap). Show me another film which has so many now-seen-as-superstar actors, in actual character parts (not cameos).
I've seen SS once. Not saying it's a bad film. But no desire to see it again. I've seen TMS maybe 40 times. which is what this thread is about.

TM7 is a fun remake and features a fine collection of then-popular pretty boys galloping and gallivanting around some Hollywood backlots pretending to be cowboys. I have no doubt it inspired you and many other adolescents to run around firing cap guns in their backyards with a level of authenticity not far removed from that production.
And the consensus system at rottentomatoes.com gives the movie an awesome 93%! Pretty great, right? However using that same review site’s argumentum ad populum provides Seven Samurai a perfect rating of 100%, statistically demonstrating that it is the better movie.

We could do a whole other thread on great DVD commentary tracks. For instance the one for Resident Evil with Milla Jovovich cracking jokes and making funny observations is more entertaining than the movie's script.
Got to be Caddyshack! Funniest movie of all time! I'm guessing 30-odd years ago my buddy's family became the first ones to own a vcr. It was a massive top loader that probably cost a fortune. But they always had to have the latest and greatest, no matter the cost. Anyway, they only had one movie -Caddyshack, which probably cost $70-80 back then! We watched it endlessly, and every time it's on, I still do. "Bushwood! You want to buy Bushwood!" This is how I'll remember Ted Knight! Number 2 on my list is The Holy Grail. Like any colllege age kid at the time, we used to quote it all the time, laughing our guts out. Next is the Godfathers (only 1 and 2). No matter how many times I've seen them, if it's on, I watch.
Hmm for me The Sound Of Music, Forrest Gump, Die Hard, The Wizard Of Oz, A Bronx Tale, Goodfellas, Snatch and Lock Stock And Two Smoking Barrels
I've seen North by Northwest quite a few times....along with the ten commandments (tradition).
Enjoy watching the Bourne series of movies and have enjoyed Avatar a few times.
Mad Max and Die Hard series as they are on tv fairly frequently.
Watched Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence quite a few times in the first few years after it came out, along with 'I am Sam' - enjoyed the musical score as well in both these movies
