I trust we're all aware that in 1819, our Governor-General, who was the Duke of Richmond, died of rabies. Legend has it the fear of hydrophobia-madness was so great that he was abandoned to die alone in a barn, in the Ottawa Valley town of Richmond where he had been visiting when he was bitten.

He was bitten by a pet fox. The (fourth) Duke of Richmond and Lennox is buried at the Cathedral Church of the Holy Trinity in Québec City.

By the by, Richmond Street is named for him as is supposedly Richmond Hill.

About the only hope is to put him into a very deep drug induced coma.
True.

No-one has ever survived rabies once it developes in you. You have about 10 days from the time you are bitten until the virus kicks in. Once it kicks in - you are dead.

There was one girl in the states that they put into a deep coma and she lived to tell the tale, but she did suffer some damage as a result.

As I recall they ventilated her until the rabies had run its course, part of the reason for putting her into the drug induced coma.

I knew a guy with Rabbis. He was one cool dude.

If I had the choice, I'd pick a Rabbi over Rabies. What sort of sick bastard would pick Rabies.
