i know a few of you guys here got your FAC and have guns and some of you know what your talking about. i been looking around the net and get conflicting answers. just wondering if any of you guys know about getting guns shipped across the border. i am gonna be getting my FAC soon and want to start getting some stuff.

That's got to the most presumptuous statement I seen on TERB in ages. Who the hell are you to judge him on this to this point. He may not be coming to the city, it is legal to own a gun, especially when you have an FAC, or he may want to hunt.
you should be venting more of your righteous indignation on those who smuggle the guns, buy them on the streets, or do the crimes than someone like Simon.
actually i live in the country and planning on moving farther north where i will be hunting. i have no interest in robbing a store or killing anyone as i have a job and can buy stuff i want like a civilized person, as for not wanting to kill anyone, i tried to join the military and they wouldn't let me so i gave up on that dream. thanks for nothing though, appreciate your help.
Its not a FAC anymore, its a PAL (Purchase and Acquisition Licence). Make sure yours has the right type of firearm listed on it, ie. Restricted if you intend to purchase a handgun. As for x-border shipment, the firearm still has to be legal in Canada; you can't get around our laws by buying stuff down there that can't be bought up here. Best bet is to get hold of your friendly neighbourhood RCMP or CBSA Detachment and see what they say, or look here:

"Presumptuous statement" you say? How is my comment judging Simon? I personally never fired a gun, and the places I go, there is no need for a gun. As a matter of fact, where in Canada do you need a gun, unless you are living in a bear infested area? Do you not think that guns cannot be stolen from the owner? And then sold on the streets to kill innocent people. What kind of world are you living in blackrock13?

i have no interest in the handgun part of it. just hunting rifles. it's not that i am looking for stuff that is illegal up here but they have a better selection down there from what i have seen at gun shows and shops i have stopped at as far as chroming and design on it. all i really see up here is stock stuff.
you never lived in the country, you know nothing about country living. caledon and mattawa isn't counrty living either. where i am going there is hunting and fishing which i do both. not hunted in a while but i want to get back into it. i am not the wasteful hunter either, i only kill what i will eat or use.
Ok Simon, thank you for clarifying. My question was not to judge you in any way or form. I know that gun issue is a sensitive topic. I also know that many here know of someone who was a victim of gun violence, or death. And blackrock13, thank you for your annoying comment.

You don't live in Simon's world, the country, you don't hunt, but he will be,. Some of us actually do live/work in 'bear infested' country. If he own a gun he takes on the responsibility of keeping it out of the hands of bad people, as most people do.
So you do presume a lot, judge him, and yet know so little about him.
So now you know it's not a handgun, especially when he mentioned hunting, you start to backpedal and apologize, good. As for my annoying comment, you annoy easily. Don't enter the PI&A Forum.

you said earlier you don't go to places that require it. country living is not where city folk go to "get away". i am talking places where you need generators for power. getting dirty before you get out of bed, wood heat and chopping your own wood. stuff like that. your country living and mine are way different.
Actually a 45 ACP would drop a moose no problem, even a well placed 9mm would do it, the thing is you can't hunt with a handgun not in Canada at least. You can call the Sheriffs office and ask them about any of your gun question at 1-800-731-4000 all I ask is that you be polite to the ladies on this line.
