and for every thousand of drug addicts there are tens of thousands happy recreational users who like their drugs and feel clearly better off for taking them.
I assume you're referring to the consumption of alcohol and weed?

With regard to previously discussed examples, if an artist uses drugs to inspire his or her work, is that considered recreational use?

It's funny how recreational 'drug-users' are stereotyped. It's especially hilarious that your stereotypical lawyer, finance-person or white collar employee are the majority recreational drug-user.
What drugs are they taking in such large quantities?

how did you come to that conclusion? what about a stereotypical plumber who makes $100K a year? He is not doing rails because he is not white collar?

Ayawaska is generally used in South American Peruvian culture. I believe the Buddhist use some flower or herb from the lily family.
Ahh okokok. I wasn't sure exactly what it was. Thank you for clarifying that :)

The most mysterious thing about drugs to me is: how can people NOT even try it, knowing full well that they only have one life. I know people who are afraid not only to take drugs but even to drink. And it's not like their life is happy without drugs or alcohol. It's pretty shitty anyway. How can people willingly live life as if they serve in the army or in prison?
That's the most idiotic statement i've read at this site dude.

Really stupid.

No coward here. Your statement was simply stupid and WRONG. Looks like the truth hurts looking at your response.

Let me guess.. You took drugs because you thought it would make you as 'cool' as the drug takers you look up to right?

If you need it explained to you Afterhours, then you've proved my point.

You know people die from drugs.. You know people on drugs act stupid.. You know getting caught with them gets you in jail.. You know drunk people are pathetic Meaning stay away from them (drugs) and don't get drunk.

Nuff said.

Here
As usual, so many people here confuse use of drugs with abuse of drugs.

There is a huge difference between them... unless you are one of those radicals from the extreme right that think any use is abuse... while they hypocritically drink their bourbon, G & T's and imported beers, take their Valium and Viagra, and pop every kind of pill to cure every kind of illness.

For them, the only good drugs are the ones they take; what anyone else takes is evil!

Ha! Your post is a typical dodge by a weak minded person when faced with points he/she can't refute. I toss facts at you and all you can do is claim I have nothing to say.

Silly you.

have you ever done any type of drug?
No I have not.

Cause I'm not one of those stupid people that think they're invincible and hence inject or put crap into their bodies. Afterhours confirmed he is one of them when his excuse for taking them was.. "You only live once".

That's a stupid excuse.

You would say that with your weak/narrow-minded self. You couldn't wait for another poster to side with you eh? No wonder you jumped on his post in a sad attempt for backing of your weak views.

He drinks coffee, he crosses the street only at a green light and and he is a perfect taxpayer.
Wrong on all counts. But of course you said that since you have nothing to back your views besides thinking drugs make you look 'cool' for some stupid reason.
