Both of these papers have come out in favour of McGuinty - mainly because neither of his opponents seem to offer anything close to a viable alternative.

I also heard on the news this morning that only about 10% of the electorate is undecided. Those are probably the people who just don't pay attention to
politics and who likely won't make much of an effort to compare the party platforms etc this late in the game. You have to wonder if those undecided are
likely to be influenced by these newspaper endorsements. I know when I was in my early twenties and didn't follow politics closely, I was influenced by
mainstream newspaper editorials just before election day. It was an easy way to fulfill my obligation to vote without doing my homework. So I'm wondering
if these endorsements will have that kind of impact now.

I care not awit for the opinion of these papers. When the star endorsed the NDP in the last federal election it felt so forced, I mean they had admit thier beloved liberals were done, that I feared that thier editorial board would burst a collective brain vessel. I despise the MSM.

Can't say I like McGuinty (don't get me started.. it will turn into a rant!), but I can't say either of the other leaders offer a compelling alternative. Like for Tory before him, this election could have been a slam dunk for Hudak.. but I think Rob Ford has soured a lot of people on voting Conservative (myself included)

McGuinty has said that endorsements don't matter, and that people should not vote for anyone because of a newspaper endorsement.

McGuinty can say whatever he likes but it won't stop lazy or uninformed people from just accepting the conclusions put forward in those editorials. People with no experience
or political savvy don't have many tools to help them pick their way through all those shiny promises. Some will just not vote because they feel it would be like picking a name
out of a hat. But others could decide to trust the editorial staff of a large and reputable newspaper. It's not a difficult concept.

How can you possibly endorse a leader who has continuously lied about raising taxes, took Ontario from a have to a have not province, wants to bring in a green economy at an enormous expense to the taxpayer and has bloated gov't to the point that the annual sunshine list (those gov't workers who make over $100K) has tripled under the 8 years he's been in office. Fuckin pathetic.

How conservatively hypocrital of the Toronto Sun supporting a party that wants to shut down the hobby, but they will gladly accept money for advertising hobby services and objectify women with Sunshine Girls.

Oh yes, the lying right winged hypocrites that inadvertently promote the hobby. Hey, they wanna make a buck right?

I've got news for you K.D. It was happening under Harris' rule too. I have the tax information to prove it. In several Ministries there is a great deal of overtime offered, then pay out of lieu time at year end which is usually banked overtime hours that cannot be carried over.

Might have been but not to this extent. Let's not forget the e Health scandal. I have more faith that things like that won't be repeated under a Conservative gov't than I do with a Liberal gov't.

The Sun didn't endorse anyone. They claimed that none of the candidates was worthy so they did nothing. Bit of a cop out if you ask me.
What other option is there. Turd Sandwich or Douchebag. Why select.

When did they ever say or put in their platform that they wanted to shut down the hobby? It's the oldest profession, been around forever and always will be!
Face it, McGuinty has done a terrible job, lied to us constantly but i guess that's ok, hes a LIEberal, so he must know whats best for us!! (Tongue firmly in cheek!)

I thought that the Star might come out in favour of Horwath after lampooning McGuinty on energy last week.

My error it's Federal PCs that want to shut the hobby, but I believe that a Hudak Premiere would gladly fall in line.

Face what? I never said McGuinty was good. My bottom line is that every single one of them are lying bastards that will fuck everyone over, but I'm happy with my piece of pie. With just 2 years to retire from the first career, I'll be fine and I move onto other opportunities maybe politics! LOL
