Was just sitting down after eating dinner the other night when there was a knock on my door. Foolish me i answered it, and lo and behold it was a salesman. They wanted me to sign up for a program that would help me reduce the greenhouse gas emissions in my apartment.
And all these fine people wanted was 25 bucks a month for a year. And this is what i got for my money.
2 recyclable canvas bags
1 roll of duct tape
1 sheet of plastic, to cover my windows
8 energy efficient light bulbs
1 booklet to teach me to how to use my new items
im thinking WTF 300 dollars a year for this.
The sad part is , they said i could save money, on my heating, and electricity bills. My rent is all inclusive so that selling point didnt really help any.
I declined, and shut the door.
The funny part is our landlord let them in the building, because they knew his name and apartment number, and they were using him as a reference sort of.
After they left i went online and checked the company out, first thing i came across was Ontario government warns against signing any contract with this company.
