At this stage of the building process, I don't think it makes sense to trade for a player like Igina, because it would likely cause young talent like a Schenn or a Kulemin. It would make more sense to go all out to sign an ufa like Richards because it'd onlu cost money and cap space, but with his leadership quality he may help to bring along the young core guys and help Kessel to maximize his potential.

Richards wont come to the leafs, he has a list of teams that he will go to and the Leafs are not on it. Loooove to have him

Only if we can get Marc Savard as well.
Marc Savard no. Jerome Iginla Maybe.

Savard concusions career over, plus his salary a major cap hit.

Iginla has the leadership and is a great guy in the locker room (good for the young guys) but rumour has it her did not get along with Dion.

My comment re: Savard was a joke.

There was recently a thread/debate on whether Savard would be good for the Leafs, so I combined that thought with this one. I was gonna include Richards as well and everybody else that was speculated for the Leafs but decided to keep it simple.

Before the arrival of Reimer, things looked so bleak that nobody in their right mind would want to play for the Leafs. If Richards had a list it would have been at the trade deadline, but if you compare the teams now, I'd say the Leafs are every bit, if not more, promising as the Rangers.

That might be but why would he want to come to a rebuilding team. He still has control of were he's going.

Which teams were on the list you talked about ?

It might be wishful thinking but I was just saying.... that he was a better fit than Iginla because he's a centre and wouldn't cost any young players to get him.
