Love the Hip-Hop/R&B fusion. I believe it's called Neo-Soul. I can't get enough it!
No Neo-Soul is a completely different sound. Think Maxwell, D'Angelo, Jill Scott, Macy Gray etc..

Gyaos Baltar.
I own this song on vinyl. It's nostalgic and it was culturally significant since it was an early recording of hip hop and one of the first commerically successful hip hop tunes.
LOL! I must bring everyone back to reality and say again that ALL WRAPPERS ARE TERRORISTS! They speak spew to intimdate, to threaten and to cause pain for a political gain of quick power and profit, same as a terrorist, trying to bypass education and the endorsement of getting one. They endorse robberies and the killing of innocents and protectors of the law. They are terrorists. Their purpose, and only purpose, is to incite fear. Same as terrorists. And my original thread from 2005 is here:So I`ve been reading your posts for a while Gyaos, and I can`t decide whether you`re a) a complete retard b) a terrible, worthless human being or c) you`re actually not retarded or terrible, but you just have an awful sense of humour While there`s some evidence for c), I`m going to stick to mostly a) you`re a complete retard, with a bit of b) you`re a terrible human being thrown into the mix Pushing the ignore button on your posts and fervantly hope that all TERBites do the same

So you can add your comments there. Hip-hop is just a bogus word for a form of music that acts as an endorsement for an organized crime business model. People like Snoop Doggy Dog, Jay-Z, and other shithead names should NEVER be given money because they have no education, fund terrorists with it and cause trouble. Live Nation is a criminal organization (even Madonna signed with them, but she will give them shit). Then they go and claim they are constitutionally protected. Sorry, they bring guns to airports, rape women and involve themselves in the drug trade.
THAT is what the rap/hip-hop music industry is. It started off good in the 80`s, then the pigs RUN-DMC came out and caused trouble, looking like they never took showers, never got an education and glorified poverty. They claim it is a "reflection of the reality among us", but they are actually stealing cash and keeping poverty they way it is. Then some dickhead puts them in the "Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame", hopefully next to the men`s room, `cuz if I ever go there, I have to take a piss.

I am sure if you pressed that it would go Platinum.Hip Hop "artists" are overweight and have diabetes.
My sugar is low
Cause I do too much blow
I'm blind in both eyes
Cause I'm just a fat guy.

Your all-encompassing definition of hip-hop, is not hip-hop, and Lou Rawls most certainly isn't hip-hop. If that's hip-hop than anything is hip-hop.As I said Hip-Hop has been around awhile.
This is what I consider Hip-Hop.
Louis is cookin'

Carribean, sure. Reggae? Not in the least. This Jamaican tune posted kind of combines an early form of Rap with an upbeat Reggae flavor that could be viewed as an early Hip Hop variant.
