once again those of who are soccer fans in North America get screwed!! yesterday and today instead of live Champions League, one of the biggest tournaments in the world, TSN decides to show us exciting live ladies curling!!

I know I know the day that soccer generates as much revenue for TSN as ice shuffleboard oh i mean curling does, they will show it. But why on earth would you show a tournament from the start live then stop during the freaking knockout stages!!! let another channel have it, so the only solution is to find a pub with a satellite dish or watch it online via a hacked Hong Kong channel

That's because TSN still doesn't get it. They talk about building a fan base for soccer but do nothing to promote, especially considering the fact that Toronto will have a major league soccer team this year, that's even more reason they should broadcast world soccer events. It's called exposure. On last night's broadcast they showed about 30 seconds of hightlights from the Barcelona/Liverpool match and that was it. No other mention about any other matches. Do they really think that viewers are wowed by curling events?

Scott and Brier tournaments are one of the biggest draws (sorry for the pun) for TSN every year. I hate curling but try to understand what country you live in, please. Curling on TSN draws millions of viewers. Soccer does not. I love rugby and would love top see more, but that's not going to happen in CANADA. For TSN it's hockey, CFL, hockey, NFL, hockey, curling, hockey, MLBaseball, and then hockey again.

I completely understand the following that shuffleboard on ice has a huge one in this country, what I dont get is why they would even bother showing the early rounds of a major tournament live then skip out on the later more important knockout stages, I mean just let some other channel have it, on an interesting side note the French version of RDS apparently carried CL matches live instead of curling, I guess the francophones in this country do not like curling as much

Gol TV and Fox World Sports are great for those of us who do like soccer, but unfortunately its TSN that owns the rights to the Champions League so unless ya wanna wake up at 3:30 am or watch it on a broken feed from station in Hong Kong, its hurry hurry hard hard for you on TSN :D

We have to write to Rogers to come up with something like MLB extra innings or NBA league pass for the Champions League where you would be able to watch all Champions League games on different channels live. I'm sure they would make loads off it. :D

I just can't believe that. No one,I mean no one will tell me that curling is as big as it's made out to be. I believe it may be a bigger draw than soccer(only in this country). For crying out loud,I don't know anyone who watches this crap. Where the f*** are all these ''supposed'' viewers,I don't know any? I guess in a few weeks they're having the Brier in Hamilton, from what I hear. No doubt TSN will be carrying full coverage of that. What a waste of TV time.

Typical Toronto comment.

Curling is incredibly popular in Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, New Brunswick, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta. Just because we live in Ontario where we live in a bubble and most Ontarians could care less about the rest of Canada don't make idiotic comments about "knowing" any curling fans. I'm sure people in Drumheller, Alberta (or any of another 1000 communities around Canada) wouldn't know, or care, about whatever an AC Milan or Bundesliga was in the world.

Funny Rick Mercer video about how insulated Torontoians are about their lives and could care less about the rest of Canada. Nothing to do with sports but might put this argument into perspective. Just because it's not Toronto doesn't mean it doesn't matter.

No doubt TSN knows that there are a lot of curling fans out there somewhere in the middle of nowhere.....but they know there are also many people right in their backyard who prefer the most important annual sports league on the planet. If they don't want to show the Champions League fine, but don't be $@#holes and allow someoene else to broadcast it.

And they also know which sport will get them more viewers and by extension more money. That's the bottom line. Televise what is going to make the most money.

It shouldn't be a difficult concept to grasp (for most people, anyways).
