And Muzzin is out for 4 weeks. Dubas just has so much bad luck with injuries this year even though he's not using it as an excuse. The Leafs took care of their most critical need, they signed Muzzin long term.

If you remember, Leafs were missing Tyler Bozak. He was their top face-off man. Had he played and was taking those important defensive zone face-offs, I suspect the outcome would've been different. They lost those draws and the puck ended up in the back of the net.Blowing the 4-1 lead to Boston in game 7, still is the worst loss to me. It still stings so bad, that the NHL named it the game of the decade.
That's exactly what happened. ^^^Talk about over-reacting. Worse game ever? Come on get real. Give credit to Canes. They came out with intensity and protected the goalie. I don't think Leafs got one good scoring chance in the 3rd period. Any goalie would have won that game. Leafs on the other hand were too casual thinking it would be easy. No intensity whatsoever.

My favourite Leaf, also. The stories of how he used to party around Toronto back in the day are apparently legendary.Still my favorite Leaf. I heard he got into the nose candy late in his career.
I still remember that Forbes Kennedy could not really skate. He goaded the Bruins during the game while holding onto the boards near the bench.
I remember the Forbes Kennedy game. The Leafs had just scraped into the playoffs and were matched against the Bruins super team and the playoff series was a humiliating mismatch. IIRC, Kennedy went berserk in Game 4 which was as brutally lopsided as the other 3. The Leafs simply brawled and tried to physically hurt the far superior Bruins to get "revenge" - the Old School Code.
After this debacle, the Leafs simply didn't make the playoffs for another few years while Ballard and his stooge, King Clancy swaggered around, making asses of themselves and humiliating the entire city. Most of the decent players simply got traded away because they wanted to play with a decent franchise with some self respect.
Absolutely.Even though I was just 5 years old at the time, this one game always stood out and remained with me to this day. It was played at a time when the Leafs were a very strong team who had just won and would still go on to win Stanley Cups and the Bruins were perennial last place finishers for years and for a few more years to come before the arrival of Orr, Esposito and the rest of the gang.
The game was played on Jan 18, 1964 at Maple Leafs Gardens. There was something very strange about this game, something very wrong about this game, you could just feel and sense it as it was being played. The Leafs it seemed tanked this game on purpose. Instead of at least a competitive game or more common effort and outcome, which would have been an easy Leafs win ..... the Leafs not only lost the game ...... they seemed to purposely lose this game by a score of 11 - 0.
11 - 0!
It was astounding! Something was obviously very, very wrong. My father told me that the Leafs were upset with the coaching decisions and decided to teach management a lesson.
So my question is, does anyone else remember this game?
Out 4 weeks? That means he should be good to go now.And Muzzin is out for 4 weeks. Dubas just has so much bad luck with injuries this year even though he's not using it as an excuse.
i believe the telecast started at 8.30.Absolutely.
The TV telecast would start at 9:30 (game time was 8:00) so it was about half way through the 2nd period. Bill Hewitt is calling the game and starts with the traditional opening, "Hello Canada and hockey fans" but did not finish "across the country and Newfoundland". Instead it was "Hello Canada and hockey fans...He scooores. The Boston Bruins now lead the Leafs 6-0". As a youngster, I was devastated, especially because, as you said, the Bruins were the dregs of the league. I'd never heard that story about them tanking that game until now.
I think we are both partially correct.i believe the telecast started at 8.30.
