Never fuck up with the pay of your staff.How to divvy up money is always a recipe for arguments. I worked briefly as a busboy when I was still a student. The policy at this restaurant was to put all the tips in a jar and then at the end of the night the money was divvied up equally among the servers with a portion to the kitchen staff and the busboys get the leftovers.
I was a busboy as well. I think I was 19. I was getting regularly 50 to 75$ out of a Friday or Saturday night. One day a new manager came in. First day I got 10$ out of my Friday night. I said not to count on me if he didn't fix it up.
Next day Saturday I get a call at 6pm asking where the fuck I was. I said the manager did not fix it up so count me out. 1h later the owner fired the manager and called me back in.
I soon move on to waiter and barman. Never I was cheap on the cut to the busboy...
