So they're saying she lied? He was facing the camera so anyone that reads lips can see if he asked to kiss her or not. Before the tournament started, 15 players wrote him asking for the coach to be fired. He refused. 3 of the players recanted and were selected. The rest were canned. So he must feel winning the cup was vindication to stick with the coach. That might explain his over exuberance.
No excuse for kissing without permission. But the video showed there was a pause between the hug and the kiss and he clearly said something to her before the kiss

This situation is getting out of hand. Prosecutors in Spain have opened a preliminary “sexual assault” probe on Luis Rubiales, who has dug his heels and and refused to resign. His mother has locked herself in a church and begun a hunger strike over the “mistreatment and smear campaign” against her son.

He maid a mistake kissing her, he was clearly super super euphoric, he hugged everyone around, but I don't see this as some kind of rape. It has become a over the top politically correct thing and they fucked up the victory and celebrations for Spain. Too much drama
If there was more kissing in Women's soccer I'd actually watch.
All he had to do was say that he got carried away in the moment and apologize to the player and this would have gone away.
Now it's getting spun out of control....In today's environment it's best not to have any physical contact with a female in these situations. How he cannot know this is beyond me.
I agree. i was watching the ceremony and and did realize that he was hugging the girl a bit too much... until Hermoso which was out of line. Still i think he would still have a job had he simply acknowledged the mistake right away.
