I care about the well being of others and the damage this has done, the division it has caused and the relationships it has broken. Some people are not strong enough for this. Will I do anything about it IRL answer is no, just go with the flow.

I have personally seen this with some family members where I need to pretend everything in their programming, nod and agree with everything they say and observe them and their hand sanitizer squirt bottles in their front pocket squirt away subconsciously. So I need to listen to how wonderful Biden is, how good their CNN is and how evil and bad Trump is while nodding my head with mask on and agreeing with them while watching them squirt sanitizer in their hands multiple times within the hour while they are just sitting on the chair outside in the cold just so we can see them and they can see the kids. As cliché as this sounds this is actually the truth and how it goes almost every single time. I also witness this at work, hear how they talk and see how they speak against the ones who don’t wear masks and how serious it gets. So I pretend. I know if I speak my mind I will not see them anymore or my kids will miss out so I pretend. Why because I care about them over my own needs, wants and opinions. If I dared to speak my mind the relationship, experience potential especially with the kids would be severed because only their opinion is valid in their paradigm lock in their programming and they will turn on me and backlash subconsciously turning this into conscious actions starting with words, then actions. Why and how do I know. I have seen them do this to others in the family.

Here I speak my mind. IRL I pretend. I don’t lose sleep over this because I experienced worse and just try to value the time I have with people even if it’s just an exchange of ideas and thoughts in the virtual spirit land.

These are just my thoughts and opinions that get triggered when I read something and I feel like I need to chime in out of curiosity and interest and feel like I can speak my mind here and not care what people say vs. people IRL where my opinions can have serious consequences and cause the loss of experience potential with people many times just over stupid ideas.
Are we in the same family. Wow. Exactly my experience.

I have not worn a mask since the mask mandate was lifted, but everywhere I go, 95% of the people are still wearing one.

Question is pretty simple, answers may not be. LOL. What say you?

I’ll admit, I don’t know yet.
Yeah I will keep masking in big crowd ect. I will also be masking if I feel sick.

Pre covid people were going to work sick all the time blowing their nose and sneezing everywhere, infecting the whole office. Masking should have been a norm wayyy before covid.

No. It's not about freedom of choice. It's about following the evolving health guidelines and mandates, which make sense, to me.
Interesting, i just got a view inside your head. You’re free to ✌.

Are you happy everyone has a choice?
My answer is yes...for the people that are still nervous about COVID, keep wearing your mask, stay out of crowds but for the people that have had enough and want to move on you now can.

There is movement but sometimes it feels like more of a pendulum swing than moving on. The government here is often more populist than reactive or even proactive at the moment and will likely get shocked back into sobriety shortly.
If we look beyond the myopic prism of local politic, to the global effects of the pandemic, namely what is happening in Hong Kong, S.Korea and China then worries of new variants and supply chain disruptions continue to loom. There are several moving parts to this pandemic and a lot to be nervous about Covid-19 still whether it is pathological and economically and for some ignorance is bliss ..or almost bliss. Long Covid is becoming more common and can make life a living hell.

I prefer to follow the actual medical findings instead of taking the word of government electioneering.

And to repeat, no mask when outside with space. Mask when shopping in not-to-crowded places. N95 when I have to take TTC.

I’m with you on this that I haven’t 100% decided.
TBH, I enjoy some of the habits I’ve picked up during the pandemic such as ordering my groceries for delivery and doing either delivery or curb side pickup/take out.
If I’m sick, I’m going to wear one if I have to go out, to keep my germs to myself, as they do in some other countries and have since before COVID (South Korea being one of them).
But always keeping in mind that this should be at the comfort level of everyone’s independent choices. I wear a mask if clients request it because I want everyone to feel comfortable with me and it’s a respect thing.
I don’t still wear mine going down the hall to do my laundry or going upstairs to use my building’s pool (although that being said, I never see any a soul during either of these activities). Ride share services like Uber and Lyft still require you to mask up and I’ve no issues continuing to do so.

no proven scientific fact they work, sheep wear them, live in fear!
You know, I have a healthy mistrust of authority in general but I’m a science geek ;)

I don’t mind being called a sheep because did you know that sheep are actually wonderfully intelligent, complex, individualistic, social and empathetic creatures that in caring for their young, teach them what plants to consume when they have some kind of sickness? Fascinating reading about what sheep are actually like! So yeah….BAAAA! BAAAA! I’m an empathetic, intelligent creature that cares for my young and teaches them about medicinal uses for plants and other valuable information on their wellness 😉😁

I am following the guidelines set by Kieran Moore, the Chief Medical Officer of Health of Ontario, the jurisdiction in which I live, not any medical findings or articles posted all over the internet, from unverified sources.

Yes, following the doctors’ guidelines such as Dr. Kieran Moore and for my jurisdiction, Dr. Vera Etches makes the most sense to me as well.
It’s somewhat mind blowing to me that pre-pandemic, no one questioned that doctors knew what they were talking about when it came to our health. We only give them their M.D.s after how many years of schooling and residency? And then the pandemic happens and people who have not been personally affected and have not gone to school and trained for years have decided that this is all a conspiracy — despite the fact that it is a worldwide thing and there is very little, if anything, that so many different countries can agree to? It’s a damn shame that some people have stopped having the proper regard for those who have studied for years to give us the information we need to be and stay healthy. I hope you all turn down the “experimental” treatments available if you end up sick with this virus as well as turn in your OHIP cards because you are loudly and proudly telling everyone that doctors are not worth listening to.

Kieran Moore is a Ford political appointment who I suspect is not following the guidelines that he released to the public himself, as he is not stupid and realizes why he got the job and what he must do to keep it. Any medical statements that this doctor makes are necessarily vetted before hand by non medical higher ups who are political scientists in the Ford government and Ontario PC party. Political science trumps medical science in today’s reality as we ride out successive waves in this pandemic with election catalysts.

I‘m curious are people really concern with other people‘s choice to wear a mask or not?

Obviously bad behaviour should be avoided best as possible.

Even with the mask mandate lifted, its going to be different case by case. Since this is a new situation, when would you consider not wearing a mask would be observed as rude?

Ottawa base.
I do not mask if I am outside walking to a store, bus stop or the like, I put it before entering (which is basically what I have done since the beginning of the pandemic) but I have plan on stopping masking for now in whatever inside stores/restaurants I go in. I stopped wearing it when entering/going out my building but that's it.
We are in the 6th wave and Ottawa waste water is definitely showing a significant uphill in the numbers of cases, which of courses arent all report since you cant report if you test postitve on a RAT test

That doesn't invalidate his recommendation to lift the mask mandate because most of Ontario is vaccinated, and we need to learn to live with this virus, and get back to a normal life.
