Surprise, surprise, another very windy day. Sunday will be much worse, maybe wind up to 100 kph. For the one or two members who may not be aware, don't piss and/or fart into the wind.

"Wind gusts of up to 100 km/h possible in Toronto on Sunday: Environment Canada"

This could knock down trees, power lines, cranes, small dogs, etc.

Saturday I went out and cranked my ham radio tower down to its lowest elevation. It is designed to easily take the wind gusts of today, but not the force of nearby tree limbs if they break and fall into it.

Was out early on Sunday. Everything was fogged up, since all surfaces colder than the warm moist air blowing north before the sun came up.

I have been out in the back yard adding bricks to weigh down some tarps now that the snow that used to lay on top of them to weigh them down has now melted away.

It was windy on my trip to the reliable dumpster where i did my usual weekly pick of all the Saturday papers.

I am presently sitting in the sun of a south facing window leafing though the newspapers and listening to the wind in the fireplace chimney,as well as retro tunes on the radio.

I was supposed to have a "one way door" installed on my chimney 9 days ago. I called the company two days prior and asked for a rescheduling because the forecast was high wind (surprise, surprise) plus a bit of snow and was cold on the appointed day. No point taking any risk on such a bad weather day.

I have a lock top damper on my wood fired fire place. A cable comes down the flue to a notch controlled open degree lever that is affixed to the inside of the fire box. Adjusting the lever setting determines how far above fully capped the top cap rises up on a spring mechanism at the top of the flue.

The chimney sweep that installed it said I was the first customer he had calling to ask for one. He had recommended them in the past to clients though, so knew right away what I was asking for.

I think windy is now and have been for at least 2-3 years the norm for Toronto. Has anyone seen a small dog that got swept up in the wind?

If you were walking on the sidewalk without shoes and bumped into the missing dog, would you call it "Toe Toe"?
LOL! When I was out on my bike a bit earlier this afternoon (don't ask me why), I saw a few little dogs and their owners fighting the wind.

"The agency says strong southwest winds gusting up to 70 km/h are forecasted to develop late in the morning on the Good Friday holiday."

"Environment Canada said gusts up to 80 km/h will continue before weakening in the evening."
