We should harness all this wind power to run turbines to produce electricity.

Still pretty windy to-day but a far cry from yesterday. There must be a way to harness all this wind energy. Come on guys, think of something.

Not much I can think of, other than 1) Flying kites, which is prohibited here bcoz of Airport, 2) ⛵ Sailing, which I have not seen much around here, 3) 🪂 Sailing which I got a micro-taste of yesterday with my umbrella giving up 4)Sweeping dust off the roads, 5) Turbines to generate electricity/mechanical - which has potential but not portable enough to be installed in every home.
But, I second ur thought: There might be a way to harness all or some of this wind energy.

Was yesterday and to-day windy enough for you? High wind is more than just annoying, it is destructive. Knocks down branches, trees, power lines, cranes, little dogs, etc.

Holy crap! It is windy to-day (and yesterday and the day before and the week before and so on).

We're missing a bouncy castle with 3-4 tiny tots inside.

Windy in my end on June 17 and 18. Tons of small branches with leaves attached to pick up. No really strong gusts like the last t storm that ripped a limb off the big maple in my back yard.
We have a blow up Heineken branded wading pool that looks like a bottle cap sitting in the back yard.
We use it when it is filled to alternate with the hot tub when things get real hot.
No water in it at the moment, and each morning it has been blown to a different corner of the yard.

I took the umbrellas down and slightly furled the clothes line to reduce things to damage other things if a really strong wind comes at the end of thus shifting weather pattern.

On Thursday, my neighbour's oversize garbage bin ended up on my lawn. Thank goodness it happened after the garbage collectors had already come. The only stuff left in the bin were nude pics of his wife (just kidding!).

It is really windy to-day. More so than usual. It's the usual westerlies.

I have looked into wind power generation. I have a radio tower in the back yard, with a very strong top mast that I put up for my radio hobby. I can crank it up to 65'.
But adjacent trees are 50' tall, and you need to be higher than adjacent items higher than I am to make wind turbines make sense to spend the money on in GTA.

Now if you are somewhere like Kincardine the wind is mush more regular and the economies change quite a bit.

Even for Toronto, it is really windy to-day. How is it where you are?

In Niagara it's windy but not as windy as forecast.
Called for wind gusts up to 90km/h. Don't think we got close to that, not yet anyway.

In a place far, far away
Yup loving the wind. When I drop a SBD silent and deadly fart the wind carries it into someone’s open mouth 10-20 feet away. I get away scot free knowing I have made them wonder who they wronged in life to be subjected to something so vile.

Only men truly appreciate the art of a fart.

Ever tried getting into the HPL Square 1 location on a day like today? It’s like sticking your head out the window on the 401 at 100km/h. 1669860722110.png

I think I heard that we actually hit a bit over 90kmp at some point this morning.

Some of your lawn furniture might actually be on your neighbour's lawn now.

Do you have power? Parts of downtown do not.

Just got back from the mall.

Yes, it was crowded.

Yes, we saw Mall Santa.

Yes, yes, yes, it is really windy out there.

Windy in Niagara, but don't think we hit 90km/hr. Wind has calmed down since this morning.
Still have power.
