Will Biden step down?

I think this weekend is a pivotal moment for his campaign. Newsome came out this morning and said he spoke with Joe for like 90 minutes and he was energetic. Now, he could certainly be lying. Also, George Stepanopolis (sp??) will air his interview tonight with Biden. There is time to "right the ship," and enough runway for Biden to step down. So, we'll see.
I don't believe that anyone who doesn't like Trump or Republicans already will suddenly vote for them if Biden stays on.

I think they would rather not vote for anyone rather than being forced to vote for Biden. Which will help Trump.

Bringing in a new Dem candidate could motivate those supporters that have given up to vote for the new person. Or make it appear that the party is scrambling and in tatters and solidify what Reps have been saying about Biden all along, which can also help Trump.

Or Dems can vote for Biden to avoid Trump coming back, and then have him step down if he wins and replace him after the fact?

But the unknown variable here is how much will Biden stepping down help or hurt the Dems overall in the upcoming election.

The pivotal moment was the debate. Now it's all just spin, hand wringing, and trying to find a non existent path out. The only thing that can solve this is a few 90+ minute news scrums in the evening, no ear bud, teleprompter or cue cards. Just him, standing before the American public taking questions from a mixed crowd of reporters.

This pre packaged interview is already dead on arrival. People will smell a rat. Btw the interview is being conducted today but not broadcast until Sunday. So two days? To edit what should be live?

As for righting the ship, it's going to be quite a bit more complicated if he steps down from running. The calls to resign the office IMMEDIATELY will come. Just as Congress returns on Tuesday. That shitshow won't stop until he does.

Then if he doesn't calls for the 25th will be everywhere. Kamala will be in a very hard spot then. Really a no win PR nightmare.

Finally the big questions as to his decline. How long? Who knew? Who was running things? Who covered it up? Why weren't the American people trusted about this?

Knives will be out at the Convention and in every Congressional office where they could lose. Various people wanting their person in so they get in too will play "Littlefinger" in this Game of Thrones.

And the press will not be anyone's friend as they report this to try to regain credibility for not reporting on this, and worse, not doing their job of figuring it out.

I have no idea what the end is. But it's going to be uglier that any time in the history of the party.

I think you're 100% right. It's a risk either way. I agree that folks aren't going to vote for Trump instead of Biden, they just might not vote. But....the revelation of Project 2025 could put the apathetic in Biden's camp...

The Heritage Foundation has been around since the 70's. There are hundreds of similar think tanks across all political stripes that come up with "projects". They all have people affiliated with political parties.
The Dems have just been pushing this narrative as a means to demonize the Rep's again.

Trump would be best to distance himself as far away from this as possible.
