You really think you are poised to man-splain this all? It’s been 2-days since you were reminded of your shortcomings in this department.
It’s been pointed out numerous times, some women keep their phones on, particularly those with one phone. Having two phones may be cost-effective for you, but who knows what her situation is.
I’m a little surprised that you of all people, Sempel, can’t see that some women are opposed to 24-7 availability, and as a result we as a group should be considerate of the person we’re contacting at times or even days...
You and I know how BP works. If she posted 10 hours ago, probably best left alone at 3am. Can he not text?
We both probably have a good idea who calls a 3am... is it really abhorrent that she complains about it on Twitter?
WTF are you talking about? I have no idea and throwing out "mansplain" is just sad.
First, it comes across as having your cake and eating it too. Women want to keep their phones on for non-business purposes, HOPING they won't get a business call. That's naïve, borders on being silly. You're dealing with guys, some stupid, some ignorant, some drunk, etc. Your number is known. You either accept the possibility or you take measures to resolve it. Hoping and praying these 3am callers get a clue is pointless.
Yes, I don't know what each individual's personal situation is. That's fair. But a phone is not the most expensive thing in the world (Heck, maybe some generous client will gift it to them - they could put their Twitter account to use and solicit a free phone. I'm laughing as this is of course a joke as it's contrary to my belief that using Twitter to solicit gifts is basically sad). But either way, you either pay for a second phone or accept that a multi-use phone has drawbacks.
I never said a lady should be available 24/7. Where did I oppose their opposition? I didn't. But if a girl STATES she's available 24/7, that implies she's available to be called 24/7 UNLESS she clearly states somewhere calls are only answered between X and Y. I don't know how BP works/charges for ads but if I was posting on there, I'd certainly include some info about hours to be contacted. Then if someone calls outside of that time, that's 100% on them and I have the right to be pissed.
Again, my main point is though that EVERY single complaint on here is easily solvable with either a little effort, money, or both. I'm not telling people to change their job, move housing, or anything else that's a huge undertaking.
