Streetfighting is to MMA

as

And1 is to NBA

The youtube vids don't show KJ beating anyone with any particular skill just big punching bags. Haven't seen the Tank Abbot vid but that guy was good when the UFC was still developing and his ground and pound style would probably not hold up today.

Check out the video of him vs Gannon. Kimbo blows his load early and eventually loses due to exhaustion.

Survive the early onslaught, and he'll gas out. He does throw nice and crisp combinations though.

MMA is not street fight style either, at least not the current UFC version which appears to be becoming the standard. I think you can't use any leg strikes on guy if he doesn't have both feet on the ground makes it biased to favour wrestling & submisson skills. I also don't see any muy thai style elbows so I presume those aren't allowed either?...
UFC (and pretty much everyone else) does not allow kicks or knees to the head of a downed opponent. UFC allows elbows to the head but many other organizations do not.

The reason organizations like UFC/KOTC/ELITEXC etc bring in guys like Kimbo is because they will punch and try their hardest to knock people out, and they are viscious...thats why they brought in Lesnar. The fans love it and eat it up, and it is exciting....I don't know about the rest of you, but when I watch the UFC, yes I like to see good technique and MMA skills, but the best fights are when guys stand and try to knock each other out. Why do you think Chuck Lidell was/is so popular. It's better than watching two guys on the groud for three rounds and one guy wins with a toe lock......lol.
