It is not a competition. How about if you stop and consider other points of view. Its obvious that you have some sort of axe to grind. Your attitude towards mental illness is obvious when you make derogatory statements to people on this forum.
In your fairly tale, every addict will be able to diagnose the problem, be able to pick up the phone, call CAMH, show up for appointments, get treatment, slay the dragon, rescue the princess, and then live happily ever after!!!!
My sarcasm aside, this is a fairly serious topic, stop talking down to people.
In the real world most, most do not seek treatment because they do not even know what the problem is...
Because of the stigma attached to it, most people will not talk about it. If they do talk about it, it will be in a secretive way or indirectly.
Once again, this is not a competition!!!! This illness is not like others...
This is not a competition... calling camh is a good start.. but there is nothing wrong with discussion groups..
