This will date me

1st concert - Lighthouse at the Peterborough Memorial Center, 1972

Best concert - Bonnie Raitt, with Bruce Hornsby opening, at the Hummingbird Center.

Worst concert - Tragically Hip at the Molson Amphitheater (had beer poured on me by some a-hole, and Gord Downie sang out of tune, and couldn't/didn't remember the lyrics to most of the songs. I don't know where people get the idea the Hip is a terrific live stage act. Although I like their studio recordings, and one of their live concert recordings, which was pretty good...Gordie must have been told to stick to the lyrics.

First was Pearl Jam in 91

Best was Metallica 2006 (download festival)

Worst was Guns and Roses 2006 (download Festival) Axels voice is gone and he left the stage for 20min cause he was upset plus on top of it all he was 30min late. No wonder there was a riot after the show.

Last one was Velvet Revolver and Alice In Chains at Molson Amphitheater.

first - Chris Deburgh, Montreal Forum, early 80s. around the time when Spanish Train was big.... went with my older sister. not a bad show

best - Beach Boys..1991, Ottawa Lansdowne Park..Carl Wilson was still alive, so this was still the real BBs..not like the current Mike Love solo tour

worst - toss-up between Dylan '88 Ottawa Civic Center...he rushed through all the songs, didn't say a word to the audience..I saw him again last July at Ottawa Bluesfest and it was much better and The Who '89 Toronto (some stadium)...they played most of Tommy...was really boring..Townsend only played acoustic guitar..

First: Jay and the Americans, 1967

Best: Cyndi Lauper at Maple Leaf Gardens in the early 80's. She was never a favorite but what a show!

Worst:I have seen Bob Dylan about 7 times. Two were great, two were just OK, and three I should have walked out on.

First concert was Metallica and Gun @ Roses at Rich Stadium in 91(I believe)

The best concert was Metallica at HSBC arena in 96. They had the whole collapsing stage and everything.

The worst was The Tragiclly Hip at HSBC arena. I cant remember the excact year, but the sound was horrible. The first and only concert I have ever walk out of, and I have been to alot of concerts.

First - Slit Enz , with Payola$ opening. Excellent performance from both. Bob Rock looked ssshit with his then new wave hair do and glasses. BC.

Best - Nik Kershaw ( I Won't let the sun go down on me ) MTL spectrum was almost empty and he and his band rocked the crowd nonetheless... respect.

Best - Santana, early 90's . Great vibe, great performance. There were joints passing around everywhere. MTL.

Best - Skinny Puppy. Fucking amazing performance. Lots of hot goth chicks, lots. MTL.

Best - 808 state. Sold out crowd, best sound I ever heard at indoor venue. MTL Spectrum , again.

best,

Buddy Guy with Junior Wells at the Kingston Mines in the mid 1980's.

Half way through a set Buddy brings on his friend to join the band - a guy by the name of Keith Richards.

Richards was an infrequent surprise guest with Buddy on a number of occasions back then.

Best:

Molsom Amplitheatre - triple header Buddy Guy, Johnny Lang and Susan Tedeski

Worst: James Blunt - a chic-light concert - there was good scenery though as every hot woman in TO must have been there. Must have been elbowed in the ribs a dozen times for gazing by the SO.

First ever live concert: Moxie Fruvous (bonus points to anyone who remembers them~)

Best Concert: The Red Hot Chili Peppers, saw them in Vancouver about 5 years ago....seriously the best music I've heard live or recorded, they are so damn talented!

Worst: Hoobastank at the opera house in Toronto a couple of years ago. I was convinced to to with a friend, and didn't want to go in the first place. It was just overwhelmingly loud, no distinguishable music, or talent.
