Just curious how close the TERB intelligentsia think the day is. Care to make your prediction interesting?

Whenever it is, we should have an after party.

It should have been yesterday, just bury it and be done with it. In the battle of greed no body wins, not the owners, not the players, not those that rely on the season for jobs, and not the fans, losers all around.

These hockey players are like teachers. They don't know how good they have it. There must be 1,000,000 hockey players that would love to play in the NHL right now.

I would play for $500,000(NHL minimum) and I would give it 100% every shift.

Does anyone really care any more?
I am almost at that point.

The 1994-95 lockout ended on January 11 and there was a 48 game regular season started on January 20.
Hockey is more physically demanding. You can't squeeze in as many games as basketball.

That timeline, though, still does provide perspective.

Why are you talking about basketball?
Excellent question.

For some reason I thought you were referring to a basketball work stoppage as a frame of reference. Not sure why.

and you'd suck and if the league was filled with shitty joes like you the league couldn't afford to pay you a fraction of your salary because your complete lack of skill compromised the quality of the product.

well the deadline date is pretty damn close as bettman opted to stall talks another 2 weeks, and yes once mid december rolls around with no deal the rest of the season could be canned

It looks like they might get this mess settled without Bettman in the room. If they do, is Gary Bettman dead meat?

Looks like a 50+ game season starting on Christmas day, similar to the NBA lockout last season which resulted in 66 games being played.

NHL has tonight cancelled all meetings and negotiations for the forseeable future.

Bettman tonight said, "We are where we are and it's horrible."

Fehr tonight said, "We were better off last August"

Put a fork in it people.

It's over.

We still have a lot of time to see a deal made. I believe that the latest they could still put together a season is the first week of February.

No sense calling to put a fork in already... However, this will probably fulfill Parkinson's Law: "The demand upon a resource tends to expand to match the supply of the resource."

Miami, you dumbass
Without a doubt, teaching is tough! But I am SO sick of the teachers hating EVERY provincial government that comes along! It seems that they are complaining ALL THE TIME.

The NHL season was over when they couldn't agree in November. Pull the plug and go home. Sick of it!
