German Director Maria Schrader crosses uneasy divides. She was part of the creative team that made Unorthodox, the story of a Hasidic young girl escaping from an arranged marriage to start a new life. Also watched Barbarians season 2 recently on Netflix. Germany coming out with some quality shows lately between Dark, Babylon Berlin, and Barbarians.
Now she's doing it again in her first English project film, She Said is a film about the #MeToo movement. On paper it should be a welcome film on a sensitive subject. Unfortunately the movement has been tarnished by sociopaths who used it to their own ends. It came out for this weekend I don't expect it to set the box-office on fire.
