Ah yes...you've been crying about not seeing a plan...so now you've seen it and you flip to not liking it and crying again.

So you're whole tactic failed and you are using a new tactic.

btw Canada Post is a crown corporation that has been losing $millions per year...how long do you think before they ask for a government bail out? Who sits on the board? They are more intermingled than you think.
Bizarre

Well you walk the streets and do not see homeless. Just like in Vienna, Amsterdam, Budapest... How they do it?
by borrowing from future generations tax revenue
it is not sustainable

Has Hungary had a open boarders policy and accelerated its population growth as Canada has?
No

We keep hearing politicians use the term "affordable housing". But what does it mean exactly?

Have they somehow discovered a way to convince builders to build homes cheaper so that they can be sold for less?

Or should the term really be "subsidized housing"? If yes, why not use that term instead, and who is doing the subsidizing and where is the money coming from?

btw I want 10 subsidized units at various locations in the city. Where can I get them?
That's the thing.

The uninformed populace think that the fix is in. That everyone is in on the price of housing and they all think that if they were Prime Minister or Premiere of Ontario that they would cut through all the graft and voila, housing costs would be chopped in half. Jesus H Christ, these idiots (and there are so many of them) have no fucking idea what it costs to actually BUILD a house. As someone who has built his own house with his own 2 hands and done a couple of serious renovations over the years, I can fucking assure you that it's eyewateringly expensive to just build the box. And it's hell on earth expensive if you are renovating. Materials, labour, equipment, energy, permits, professional fees, taxes on top of taxes, utilitiy connections, you name it, everyone is there with their hand out. Never mind the price of the land. Yeah, some material prices fluctuate up and down. But most only go up. Labour only goes up. Energy prices only go up. Equipment prices only go up. In all my years, I've never known trade labour prices to go down. Especially union labour prices. The market slows down, guys get laid off. But those still working don't take a cut.

Even if you look at the condo market right now, there have been several failures of condo companies in Tononto. Even the spectacular 1 Bloor West has gone broke and they could not sell the hulk (that isn't even topped off yet.) There are several condo developers who have gone under. Others are no longer building. Why? Becuase they can't even recoup their construction costs. The market can't afford to buy for what Developers need to charge.

People who can't afford to buy a house all think that the government should step in and build housing and give it to them. That kind of thinking is not based on reality. The federal government spends about 12k on every man, woman and child in Canada. I don't know the price to construct a house all over Canada, but I am familiar with the GTA and moreso Toronto. Here, just to build the box, never mind the land, never mind the professional fees, or the permits, or the taxes. No driveway, no landscaping. Just a box built to code, middle of the road finishes (very middle of the road), you can count on $500.00 per square foot (if you're lucky) to build a custom house. (I.e. not a subdivision.) So 2000 ft2 is a million bucks just for the box. 12 grand won't even get you kitchen appliances. And people think that the government should somehow build them a house? On what planet? Even Trudeau, when handed the cost to subsidize housing costs lost his lunch and changed his mind. All the little kiddies think that they should be able to live in the Annex. Well yeah, I'd like to live on Palmerston Boulevard too. But guess what, I don't make Palmerston Boulevard money so I've got my head wrapped around that fact. And just because I don't make Palmerson Boulevard money, doesn't mean that some other guy doesn't.

Hey Bver 2.0. seeing as your attempt to distract to Poilievre in a thread that has nothing to do with him failed, do you have any real insight to offer?

Do you think the government should keep owning Canada Post buildings for a Crown Corporation that loses $millions every year?

Politicians like to use the term "affordable housing" to try and fool people into thinking that it won't be paid for by other people's taxes.
Lipstick on a pig so to speak and creates the illusion that they have somehow figured out how to build cheap houses that people can buy like magic.

The message should actually be: Hey taxpayers, we're going to take more of your money so that someone who feels entitled to have a home can fool themselves into thinking they can afford one and then they will vote for me!

It seems that the government once again got involved in ending the strike, which is a hint to folks with a bit of common sense whether they are still needed—but hey, some lack common sense.

BTW Scoob, do you finally admit that your tax dollars you cry about daily have not gone into paying for Canada Post as of today or are you going to hang on to your fable as if your life depends on it??

You need to re-read my post and stop distracting away from the topic of this thread.

I used the money Canada Post has been losing, and the money being sent to Ukraine in response to another member's comment about building homes. You twisted that into something else and just focused on the Canada Post part and completely missed the point.

btw Canada Post continues to lose $1 billion per year. Anyone with common sense would ask themselves why?
Outside of rural areas, Canada Post is useless.

And after they f@cked Canadians over this past holiday season, most will not rely on them any longer and will avoid this affecting them in the future.

You have been harping on tax dollars being used to fund Canada Post's losses. I proved you wrong so before I go on with your constant dog chasing its tail bullshit, can you admit you were wrong?

Proved me wrong about something you read incorrectly? Are you that desperate?

I cannot answer any of your asinine questions until you admit you were wrong, are you that afraid to admit failure?

Admit I was wrong about something you interpreted incorrectly?

What exactly are you trying to do here other than distract away from your usual tactic of changing the topic?

But, you're too smart to be fooled by politicians

But, how does your smartnessiness explain your clown show, foolish devotion, fealty and pretzelization concerning your Dear Leaders, Felon and Fraud?

My "smartnessiness" explains how I can detect morons who make up words to add to their usual word salads when they have nothing left to offer other than trolling remarks.

Yes affordable is when someone can buy or rent a home within their means.
Subsidized means someone else is paying for it in part or in whole.

The point here, which you appear to have missed, is why do our politicians (like Chow) keep using "affordable" instead of "subsidized" seeing as the housing she is building is subsidized by taxpayers and not just cheap housing. It's a marketing tactic to avoid the real essence of what she is referring to. Why?
Why do Frauds keep saying they're going to build housing faster, better?

Frauds keep using the words, "getting it done", "promises made, promises kept", when in reality shit all is getting done and shit all promises are kept?

Why is that?

Because Ford is getting it done despite the same memes you keep posting over and over.

Here's an idea...if you want more housing built, how about you stop protesting everything he's trying to do to get it built?

But wait!

That would mean you would have nothing to complain about!

He is nowhere to be found on housing.

He is missing in action.

His "build nothing nowhere, no how and at no time Act" and "give developers everything they want Act" has produced nothing, nada, nil.

Yet, he:

1) can subsidize with $2.4billion worth of taxpayer dollars for a private pool in the lake
2) can subsidize with $3.4billion worth of taxpayer dollars an unlegislated for, unneeded, unwanted and unwarranted early election
3) can subsidize with billions upon billions worth of taxpayer dollars private corporation electricity rates
4) can subsidize motor vehicle drivers with billions upon billions worth of taxpayer dollars

He can subsidize all of the above 1) thru 4) and more, but he can't, WON'T lift a fat frickin finger to build housing, affordable, subsidized or even a frickin tent.

Says the guy who was crying loudest over building more homes because he didn't like where they were going to be built...now crying there aren't any homes being built.

Ontario Place is going to be awesome!
Giving back people's tax money is a good thing.
Helping them pay their electricity bills is also a good thing.

Just admit it, Ford could cure cancer and you would still hate him. Don't try and fool anyone about how deep that hatred runs.

Then ask yourself why people need all this help because of crippling affordability and all roads will lead you to the tax-happy Toronto Council and Federal government.

Your rage is misplaced as usual.
