The bill would have given amnesty to over 2 million illegals just to start. It wouldn't have stopped there.

It also didn't have any language with regards to catch and release or deportations.
That is a Conspiracy theorist take on the number of illegals that would have been allowed into the USA.
The Facts are actually laid out here:

Myth: This bill will let 5,000 migrants into the country per day.
The actual facts of this Bill involving a very Conservative Republican is:

'' ● All migrant encounters – with or without BEA in effect – will be processed using the new removal authority. Those who seek asylum will undergo a swift Protection Determination Interview at the higher screening standard and will be immediately removed from the country if they fail. ''

A protection determination interview eh?..At a higher screening standard...Hmm...So are we separating families?

What is this screening standard?...Why did it need to be higher.

The Dems will catch and release and you know it...It would be racist to not do it, lol.

And what about the amnesty to the 2 million illegals to start off with?

Thus letting in between 10 and 20 million illegals

Ship them all out to the swing states. Give em food stamps and free housing and you got yourself an election

Shrewd move...
They have to be citizens to vote and they need to register to vote.
Refugees take years, if not decades to become citizens.
Undocumented immigrants possibly even longer.
So I dont understand this accusation of illegals being shipped to swing states.
Doesn't impact voting if they are not citizens.
The instances of such illegal voting are exceptionally small.
It found that out of 23.5 million votes counted in these states, an estimated 30 suspected incidents of non-citizens voting were referred for further investigation.

That’s about 0.0001% of all votes cast.

An analysis of a database which collected election fraud cases between 1999 and 2023 by the Heritage Foundation, a conservative research group, found 77 instances of non-citizens voting.

A number of other reports, including by the Cato Institute, a conservative think tank, entitled ‘Non-citizens Don’t Illegally Vote in Detectable Numbers’, come to similar conclusions.

10 to 20 million is a very broad number not to mention much exaggerated. And since only American citizens can vote there's no up side in letting in immigrants

Republicans said it was the reason for the influx of illegals coming in and it was going to be so effective and important so why has Donnie not even mentioned it once in his campaign ? Was it all a hoax like his real estate frauds ?
It basically went like this...
Trump wanted to build/continue building the wall and was criticized for it.
Trump completed about 450 miles of it.
Biden stopped it as soon as he took office. Everyone praised him for that.
Illegals started flooding into the US even more than before.
Biden decided to build the wall due to the issue.
No one criticized Biden for building even more wall than Trump did.

So what is wrong with rejecting the illegals' applications if they fail at the interview?
This is designated to stop the flooding of illegals at the border. Why was that an issue with Trump?

Higher standard of screening is nothing to do with separation of families, like the separating of minors from their parents was the norm under the previous Trump administration!!

Why are you complaining about the raising the bar on the screening?

The whole point of this Bill was to prevent the Cartels of exploiting the migration of these migrants seeking asylum in the USA. On the other hand it would speed up the screening process in a far more efficient manner, so that those who do not qualify are then prevented from residing in the USA!!

Kamala Harris did not dispute the 10 million claim....It is believed to be much higher than that.

Takes about 5 years to get citizenship and be able to vote...They're thinking ahead and shaping elections.

It takes 1 year to get a green card after asylee application acceptance and then 5 years to qualify for citizenship.
Then 2 year wait time for applications.
So Id say if you were a refugee it'd take about 8 years to get citizenship and that is the best case scenario.
But refugee cases go on for multiple years.
And 90% of refugee cases are rejected by the courts.
But these are legal immigrants.
Illegals cannot qualify for green cards.

It's about the total, new and re-built and in progress. Read the article.
I am quoting you... build and continue to build 450 miles.... based on the article, it was only 18 miles.

I understand you believe everything trumpard says but you got to get your fact straight.

Anyway, no point arguing. Trump is going to loose... maybe we can talk again in 2028.

Construction of Trumps wall was halted when Biden took over. Now it's just a hunk of rusty orange scrap. The parallels shouldn't lost on anyone.

Maybe we can talk when you learn how to add...

The vast majority of the 458 miles were constructed in places where some kind of barrier already existed, but most of the preexisting structures were far less imposing than the new wall and included fencing and rudimentary technical barriers. The total figure also includes what the agency calls “secondary border wall” or sections of wall built behind preexisting barriers that ultimately remained in place.

and more...

A 2023 report by the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAS) said about 458 miles of wall were built between January 2017 and January 2021, 81 percent of which replaced existing barriers.

A U.S. Customs and Border Protection report in 2021 broke this down into two categories: primary and secondary wall. It said that 52 miles of primary wall and 33 miles of secondary wall were built in locations where no barriers previously existed.
A further 351 miles of replacement primary wall and 22 miles of secondary wall were put in place of "dilapidated and/or outdated designs," bringing the total build to 458 miles.

Biden restarted building the wall after he realized the border became a disaster after he halted building it. Even though he said he wouldn't build even another mile of wall.
I guess that also makes him a xenophobe.
And a liar right?

Parallels indeed.

Their children born in the US will have birthright citizenship, even if the parents entered illegally.
