I'm doing my bit to save the planet by not printing off (wasting paper, ink, electricity) any of the stupid ideas spanglerdoo posted in this thread.

Look, I'm going to continue to do what I've always done. I'm going to go down to Chinatown, fork over $15, and get head from an 80 year old Chinese woman. If that helps the environment, terrific. If not, I'm not going to sweat it.

I know people can try to tell me i'm nuts
I don't think you're nuts per se, just woefully under-educated on what you're talking about.

Plastic bags should be banned -they are made out of a polethyene man-made material -they never decompose
That's true, but so should paper... once it's buried it doesn't decompose worth a darn.... scientists who dig through garbage piles to see how we lived in the past date their finds by looking at newspapers that were buried at the time.

So I pick on all the fastfood chains the dominator being Tim Hortons since 365 million cups get thrown into landfills every year and that are non biodegradable ,yet everyone throws them in the recycacle bin not realizing they are not being recycled
The cups are recyclable, but most municipalities don't accept them for recycling.... blame them not Timmies.

The ground will fight back so be prepared for more disaster until we start cleaning up the lakes and soil.
I don't think the planet is actually sentient.

Oil will explode from overheating also that might get some attention .Global warming ccomes from man not natural causes
Um.. the flash point for crude oil is like 60C or somesuch... if the ground gets that hot I don't think we'll be around to see the oil go boom.

If man is the sole cause of global warming, how do you explain the cycles of global warming/ice ages that occured long before we were on the picture?

Don't get me wrong... I think it's important to improve our impact on the environment... reducing pollution is only a good thing for our lungs. But ultimately.. no matter how green we are, the planet will run out of something we require to live... or we'll get whacked by a comet/asteroid... or we'll get the magnetic pole flip that we are statistically overdue for... or something else will get us and we'll be no more.

the beaches are unsafe to swim in
Actually in Hamilton, the beaches are unsafe to swim in because of excessive feces from geese. That's right, because we decided to save the geese and allow them to proliferate, they have polluted the beach to levels well beyond safe levels for humans.

Agriculture far and away creates the most destruction to the world's soils. Has for thousands of years. Explain to me how an herbicide is our only hope to save them.
