Oddly enough LeBron and sid came I at roughly the same time also. Both had equally stellar careers, hard to choose whose was better. I think Yama is going to be a bust. Bedard I think will be a 90 to 100 point player.

I don't think Wembanyama is going to be a bust, if he can healthy. I remember some doubting Kevin Durant, because he couldn't bench press 135lbs at pre-draft workouts.

He's going to get clobbered and be oft injured imo.

That might have been true about 25 years ago, today's NBA is such a wide open game a lot of the banging is gone. It also seems he is more wing player, and not a inside the paint kind of player. To me he seems like a taller Giannis, with a better stroke, but not quite as athletic as Giannis.

With the trainers, nutritionist and therapist these players have access to Wemby should not be a bust, however sports media today put that hype tag on him so early that most fans will call him a "bust" if he doest average 25ppg rookie season. I think he's a 2yr project for the Spurs.

Giannis is a poor shooter. His game is solely to drive to the basket. If he is stopped, he has no game. Yet he has won the MVP twice. Wembanyama can shoot the 3 and also from mid range. He will be a great offensive player in a couple of years, like Jokic.

Hockey vs basketball ratings are so interesting, partly because the playing times and number of players involved in a game are so different. I also think that basketball trends to a more specialized body type meaning that elite NBA draft picks typically have much more of an expectation of future development while elite NHL picks tend to be closer to a complete package. I can't remember the last time an NHL high pick became a bust like we've seen from some NBA players.

I watched Wemby's 2 summer league games and there are definitely areas for growth for him to become a star. It sort of felt like San Antonio was just letting him do his thing to try and figure out what exactly they are working with so I won't comment on shot selection but he didn't seem fully comfortable offensively, his handle isn't anywhere near as tight as some have been saying, and he got exposed covering guards on the perimeter but all of this pretty much was expected. His stride length though is freaky because he doesn't appear fast but still allows him to cover distance. I expect Scoot to be ROY but Wemby will be strong and got lucky enough to end up with a team that is known for building the best version of players.

Victor W. will have a more accomplished career, make more money, get more endorsement deals, and will be more famous than CB. If he stays healthy and injury free. No one cares about hockey players except Canadians.
