When Chief Wiggums posts, feel free to question him.

As I'd heard it on CBC news, not from anyone on the force, and I didn't have a web reference. Next time slow the fuck down before you engage your pie hole keyboard-style. If somebody is concerned about my information they will not hesitate to ask me.

Believe it. Sport Rider August 2002, listed the R1 at 10.10 secs. at 228.12 kph in the 1/4 mile. That was 10 years ago! 300 kph is no problem these days.

Actually not. That bike going 300 kph plowing into to back of a small car (think Toyota Echo) travelling at 100 kph with a child in the back seat wouldn't stand a chance. This is obviously a t-bone crash but it does demonstrate the force of motorcycle vs. car.

You're right, it has nothing to do with "not being afraid to die". It has everything to do with a complete disregard for the safety and lives of other motorists.

Maybe it's how he releases his stress? Are you serious?
Nonsense, even at a 200 kph differential a motorcycle would be unlikely to penetrate a car from the back. besides he was only going about 230 in traffic lol....

From the last line of the article...

"Investigators believe it occurred sometime prior to April 7, when the video was posted."

How the hell did they ever figure that out???
From all the 911 calls that day reporting a blue motorcycle driving recklessly on said highway. Just a thought!

Well they got the twit. I guess he left a digital trail wider than his tire treads; the suspect is known to the police(quelle surpise), no license (naturally) and is uncooperative, duh
As anyone should be when the police want to question you....

Here you go, since you enjoy seeing people die, this guy didnt quite make it. Has all the ingredients you asked for, biker, lots of speed and a truck. Only thing is he didnt rear end a truck, hit him head on. Go ahead rub one out...

Wow, don't people recognize sarcasm: Of course the incident occurred prior to the day the video was posted - we didn't see a Flux Capacitor on the guy's handlebars so he couldn't go Back to the Future now could he?

I've traveled 290 km/h *frequently*:eyebrows: on my 1998 GSXR-750. Riding any bike is very therapeutic or at least it is to me. My friends ZX12 R did 330 km/h bottomed out. I use to ride with a bunch of sportbike riders from all around the gta. Really nice people:thumb:
I dont think I've ever met such nice and friendly people women and men then sportbike group riders.

We would ride at night when there wernt many cars on the hyw. We'd make runs from T.O to Niagara, Kitchener, London and back in a very, very, very short time frame;)

It was quite a feeling doing 280 at 11pm within a group of 30 or so sportbike riders all with aftermarket pipes and liter bikes. It was better then sex or drugs imo

It is not dying that he should be afraid of, it is living. He might end up living the Steven Hawking fantasy, except without the 24 hr. care, the money and the tools and electronic gizmos.
Ummm. I don't know if you guys realize it or not but on the roads daily people become "living the Steven Hawking fantasy" from car accidents. There's wayyy more serious car accidents on the roads then bike accidents since there are wayy more cars then bikes and people who cant drive worth shit. You're odds on getting in a life changing car accident is way more then you'd think. So what now, you don't drive and take the TTC cus its "safer"?

I work in the field for a living and see the effects of just about EVERY car and bike accident in the gta. Trust me, theres way more people being fitted to wheelchairs and peeing into a bag for the rest of their life thanks to cars.

Sorry to break your fake safety bubble folks:frown:

it has nothing to do with "not being afraid to die", different people have different reasons for doing this type of activity. maybe it's how he releases his stress?
and it wouldn't be the same going this fast on race tracks with no cars to weave through..
Nice, he likes to relieve stress by scaring the shit out of everyone else. And yeah, I can understand that it wouldn't be the same without traffic to weave through...yet I don't see how that argument even comes close to standing up to arguments against crazy-ass driving.

Tell me this...if you were driving in the middle-lane of a freeway, and you knew a full-sized vehicle was on your left, but you were looking straight ahead...and you saw a flash of movement on your left...would you not take evasive action?

Do they have buses and SUVs pulling boat trailers going around a racetrack to dodge at 250 km/h? I don't think a racetrack would give this guy the same rush as his zip and dart job on a busy highway.
Well, of course not. Unless you have enough money to rent a race track and have obstacles put for you. How about racing with 20 other bikes/cars on a track with no medical staff on site. Maybe that won't be realistic enough for him.

I totally 'get' why he did the speed demon thing on traffic roads. To do something crazy in a normal environment and 'live on the edge' is amazing. Thats all good until you put other lives at risk.

If he wants a good rush, go drive in Asia. Its like playing Need for Speed everyday, kinda like organized chaos. And yes I have driven there to know first hand how awesome and bad it can get. But thats everyday life over there.

There are other activities that don't put other lives at such risk and give arguably close to similar adrenaline rush. Parkour, Bungie jumping, Sky diving, etc.

I'm a late comer to this thread. Could that video have been faked? I use to ride a bike (until the ramp incident) and 300km is just virtually impossible.
What bike did you ride?
Any modern day liter bike does 300 no prob.
750's do close to it and 600's will hit over 150-160mph (250 km/h) stock.
Sportbikes that is.

We are talking 750 Triumph circa 1980's. I was young and foolish but not so foolish to push it beyond 120mph and then only for short sprints. Old biker proverb: "There are bold riders and there are old riders but there are no old bold riders." I was "persuaded" to quit when I experienced the "ramp incident" and then one of my friends had an accident and suffered permanent brain damage.
BTW: It was really fun to take a woman on the back because she would open her legs:eyebrows: and press her breasts hard against your back with her arms around your waist.

EDIT: It was so long ago, maybe it was a 650cc and I never exceeded 100mph. Memory is not perfect anymore.

Actually, not true. A friend of mine's brother died in the back roads doing about 160km/hr when someone pulled out of their driveway. He ended up ripping clean through the car and stopped in rear seat just behind the drivers seat. They had to cut him and the bike out of the car.

Now, I ride a sportbike as well, but I have to say that the guy in the original video is a complete moron - it's riders like those that give us all a bad name. He is so lucky to be alive lane splitting at those speeds.
