I've traveled 290 km/h *frequently*:eyebrows: on my 1998 GSXR-750. Riding any bike is very therapeutic or at least it is to me. My friends ZX12 R did 330 km/h bottomed out. I use to ride with a bunch of sportbike riders from all around the gta. Really nice people:thumb:
I dont think I've ever met such nice and friendly people women and men then sportbike group riders.

We would ride at night when there wernt many cars on the hyw. We'd make runs from T.O to Niagara, Kitchener, London and back in a very, very, very short time frame;)

It was quite a feeling doing 280 at 11pm within a group of 30 or so sportbike riders all with aftermarket pipes and liter bikes. It was better then sex or drugs imo
Me and some friends did a full bore ride down a 2 lane once, as fas as we could go for the conditions and our skill...probably hit 180-200 frequently... when we stopped for gas our tires were melted on the edges like at a track day... man that was a fun ride. !!!!

Sweet bike man, a classic..
To me its all about the experience of riding.
My friend and I use to cruise the streets looking for female hitchhikers. One time I was alone and saw TWO females looking for a ride. I said I could only take one. The cute one said "ok", but her friend pleaded with her not to go.

As someone that has been into motorsports for about twenty years I see this and feel nothing but rage. Safety is everything in racing and Jackie Stewart will certainly agree on that. I have raced on a number of tracks in the past ten years and have the trophy rack to prove it and I never, ever, will ever, do something this crazy on a highway. Why? Seriously. I hit the back straight of mosport race track at 240+ and on bigger tracks can get to 280 km/hr but then lets face it, I know what I am doing. I have safety equipment. Medical staff are at the track. I have sets of tires and brakes are swapped out every race and the camber and track of the car set on every race. WTF is this moron doing? Nothing but trying to kill himself or worse, someone else.

Here is me farking around : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yD3H4Of2kfA

Here is a friends 70,000 dollar mistake for a fun diversion : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=orWUygRGe2E

Sorry but had to post the facts that I do race. I do play in motorsports and I love it but those assholes that rip down the highway on a pocket rocket two wheel death machine hate other people. They really do! They don't give a damn for other peoples lives and thus, they hate everyone other than themselves. Losers!

Also, that asshat guy would never catch me on a track.

Asshole that he is.

My cars leave bikes way behind and they can barely catch my acceleration past 200. So really your statement is only true for non-race tuned bikes or cars.

This is just nuts. I also rode a sportbike...and yes, they are extremely fast and can easily reach these speeds. Yes I have sped as well...but on an open road with no traffic...but never to this extent. Yes, there are idiot drivers too who cut bikers off. But guess what....sportbike riders have a poor reputation on the roads as not having any respect for others on the road. As a result, the sportbike riders who do respect others on the road wind up being lumped in with the yahoos and get cut-off and are not respected. Lane splitting and weaving in and out, especially at highspeeds, is plain stupidity. Even as a former rider myself (and soon to be back on a bike again), while driving, the ONLY reason a collision was avoided was that I saw the sportbikers behind me make a move and knew what they were about to do....lanesplit....just as I was about to change lanes to let them by. I stayed put and sure enough, they lane split and blew by me. The idiot in this video...at that speed...would have definitely killed others as well. 2 or 3 years ago, a sportbike with a passenger, going well over 200 hit a car....killed the rider, passenger and the driver in the car. The only one I feel sorry for is the driver....the rider got what he deserved. Go ahead...those who are defending the idiot riders like this....fire away...'cause I'm sure you feel you have the right to ride like this. Let's hope you don't wind up killing innocent people because of your stupidity.

Apparently Lankey, see post #119, has experience and the balls to boot and says you and the video star are nuts.

No problem .. I get this all the time

No problem. I get noises like this all the time. Deepending on what car I am in on the highway they will follow in my blind spot and then rev their engines asking for a race. Not off track I won't. Really, what is the reward? None at all. I don't need to go fast on a highway to know the car will. I don't need to race a guys new Camaro or Corvette to know that I can.

Really, it is a waste of good tires and time.

Peace.

ps: I have a track tune day coming up and I'll try to post a vid or two. The Pfaff Porsche guys have
swapped in a new Borla XR-1 exhaust and intake plenum from IPD. I am hoping to get the
car setup for the summer. I run about 5 degrees negative camber on the front suspension but
the new Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires offer greater nose-in grip with a tad less. I am not sure
and the idea is to measure measure and then measure again with hot tires and see if we can
get the car up past 270 on the back of Mosport.

Here I'll post a pic so you know I am not full of shit like other noise makers.

That is me in the black. My race insctructor is to my left and he is a very experienced GT3 driver.

That is Stefan and I messing around with the 911 Cab just outside of Stuttgart.

Yeah I know. I'm a geek. This is at the Porsche testing track and Stefan and I picked up the GT3 lap time trophy. It was a good weather day and the tires were working well.

AR, you'll find out I and most other members don't like receiving PM's like yours about active threads. If you haven't got the balls to say it in the forums, just button it. You'll learn in time it goes further.

you can tell by the plates that we were in Germany for this. Everything I do this year will be here in Canada or stateside. Unless the nice guys at Stuttgart call me up to test the new prototype 918RS! I would be all over that baby in a flash :

.. no, I don't get those wheels either.

Mmmmmmm, can't wait for the European Lemans season to start.
http://www.lemans.org/en/races/24h/update.html

wow .. yes. The 24 Hours of Le Mans is, in my very biased opinion, the greatest race on earth. Personally I have no clue how guys can go like that hour after hour. The sweat inside the helmet and the endless slams of the car in every turn must be mad on the body.

Funny, story. Just recently I was downtown and a friend had been drinking a lot. I picked him up and in the process of driving him home I do hit the gas a bit hard and the brakes are almost enough to throw you into the windshield. Needless to say this did not sit well on my drunken friend. He began to look for the window button saying "I'm gonna be sick.." and I said "lean forwards and toss man!" because the air intakes for the engine are right behind the doors. If he tossed chunks out that way I would need an engine rebuild. Thankfully floor mats are throw away items and all was well.

I know ... hardly related. I just don't know how the hell drivers can deal with 24 hours of hard pounding all out driving without passing out. The pre-race fitness tests must be nuts.
