Playa Del Carmen Q.R.
Because of my work, I maintain a residence both in Canada and the US and have dual citizenship.

There are huge differences not only in the politics but attitudes in both countries. I am a big supporter of Bush. Primarily because of one thing. My parents originally immgrated from a country with an oppressive regime. And without going into too much details, I've personally seen what tyranny and dictatorship does. I've noticed that far too many people have certain "moral" standards regarding the war. The way I see it is - if you, personally never have to suffer under such a goverment such as Hussein consider yourself blessed and thank the people who have allowed this freedom.

The way I see it - morality is in the eye of the beholder. Listen....listen carefully....these Islamic militants hate you...and me.And there happens to be a bunch of them out there. These people would rather blow themselves up than to see us live happy, fulfilled progressive lives. These are poor, uneducated, ill-informed individuals - who have a ten inch erection to kill you. Is it my fault they were born into this? no. Do I feel sorry for them?yes. But should I support the war then - I do. Because someone has to believe that our freedom is worth fighting for. Sometimes security is achieved by the point of a rifle.

The November elections will show who the people believe in and I know someone out there will pull the electoral vs popular voter discrepancy out of their ass. To them I say this, if you dont agree with how GWB won- why didnt you pressure your representatives to change it for this election.

GWB is not a genius, but at least he's not a pussy. The man wakes up every morning and without much thought decides- today, we take the fight to them. American voters would rather vote for a fool, who isn't a coward then a genius who looks unsteady (check on Adelai Stevens...and anybody who ran vs Reagan).
he's not a pussy or a coward? where was he during the viet nam war? ducking out on his country - just like cheney.

I wonder though....how many people would support a trial lawyer who made tens of millions suing doctors and jacking their liability insurance to the point they can't practise?

maybe those doctors were quacks who shouldn't be practicing medicine? Its easy to say the lawyers are to blame for rising costs, but why are the republicans so eager to take away or limit the right to sue doctors or HMO's or insurance companies?

Was Al queda linked to iraq? per rumsfield- nope
Were there WMDs in iraq- nope

are their militants/terrorists who hate the US? yes
Should they be hunted down?
What does it have to do with iraq?- Nothing until the US invaded

I humbly disagree with your statements, so far there has not been any definite proof of that.
History will decide who was right and who was wrong. Until then it is just an opinion.
I am not sure we will ever proof it either way.

..Cheeney the archetect of the Iraqi War , basically explained why they went to war because they thought at some time in the future Saddaam might team up with the Terrorists. What a crock of crap, Saddam and The Bath Party, thugs that they were, were anti-religious, in fact the only secular country in the region. Islamic Fundamentalists hated Saddam and his whole regime. So Cheeney was lying through his teeth, he is far too smart to believe that. In fact, getting rid of Saddam means we have in fact removed an impediment to the spread of Islamic Fundamentalism in the region.

...exactly !, my point was his reason for going to War was a lie, the real reason, I dont know , they wont tell us.
Though I might add Countries usually lie when they get their sons and daughters to give up their lives in a War, its just this time its so obvious.

I agree.

Maybe we should ask the current adminstration to carefully layout the reasons for entering Iraq in the first place because it seems to change month by month.

BUT>>BUT>>BUT..they told me it is about the WMD's and the freedom of the IRAQI people and Al Quaeda and..anad...and..

* holding his head in agony*

Since the vast oil resevoirs underneath the sands of the middle east were discovered, it has been a primary objective of ALL the following administrations to control this huge prize.

So your point is that there is no proof that the Bush administration has no proof. I'm not surprised your head is spinning. I've got this magic rock you might like to buy. It keeps any rhinoceros from running through my neighborhood, and so far has worked like a charm.

I did not watch the debate so maybe someone could fill me in on something. With the collective wisdom of Clinton, Kennedy, Bagala, Carville and Shrum, did Edwards make the case, like so many have tried and failed to do on this board (30+ threads), against Cheney and Haliburton?

Haliburton recieved all the money up front, as they were under investigation there should have been some held back, which was not.
