My stepmom needed an abdominal MRI. Waiting time in GTA - 6 weeks. Waiting time in Buffalo,NY - 5 days. $650 out of pocket. 50,000+ Canadians do the same per year. It would be even higher were in not for Canadians being too polite.

So what is your point? Anyone in Toronto or anywhere else accessible to the US can go and pay the $650 and get and MRI. Or you could stay in Canada and pay nothing. At various times over the last several yeas one of my kids, my mother and I have needed MRI's. In the case on my mother and I neither was an emergency and neither waited over a week. In my son's case it was an he was seen within 24 hours. Cost in each case? Zero.

And by the way $650 is a lot of money to a lot of people struggling to make ends meet.

Hey Guys guess who benefits from a for profit American health care system? We do. Their medical innovations/inventions (and believe me there's a lot more happening down there than here) are eventually shared with us and we benefit from it...actually the whole world does. Is it perfect? No, pretty far from it but their's a lot of problems with our system as well.

The OP spaghetti bender here try looking at your ancestral homeland...207k infections and 28k deaths. Project that to a million cases like the US has. How's Italy's health care system performing now? In fact take the next 4 countries with the most infections. They're all Western European countries with socialized health care. Collectively they have fewer cases than the US has yet almost double the number of deaths

Can we please not call Trump “dementia-addled”? Dementia is a medical condition. And, those who get it, do not “ask” for it or “deserve” it (I would know; I had a parent who ended up having it). I think using a medical condition that hundreds of thousand (likely more) suffer from and Trump in the same sentence is a bit sacrilegious. Why not just call him low-IQ (which he is)?
