Of course, France would be silent. France has no business in Canadian internal affairs and they damn well know it.
France is welcome to voice their concerns about human rights but most of the world would rightly condemn an invasion.

Russia is not my enemy. What has Russia done to me that should make it my enemy? What has Ukraine done for me to make them my friend? ...
Yet here you are, arguing against the moral stances you have taken in the past and unabashedly parroting the farcical claims from the Russian government.

No actually I recognize we are part of a block that does the same things and that we are part of the system that fomented this war. We are just pouring weapons into Ukraine and inciting the Ukrainians to fight to their own oblivion. To me that is making things much worse.
Except the Ukrainians are fighting - and winning - to defend their country. By your logic, Britain should have given in in 1940 and let Hitler take it over.

Russia is my home land..it gave me lots of good in my life.! And Ukraine got caught up in American world domination and manipulation and fell a victim.

Not one leader but Macron because of his elections out any effort into any peaceful solution.

Because you have chosen to side with murderous dictator. You didn’t have to take any side…. You didn’t have to post any articles. You did. Choices matter. You side with the enemy, that makes you a traitor.
Why don’t you speak to some Iranians or Syrians here in this democratic country. And call them
Whatever you want after you hear what they have to say about your Allies and call them traitors or whatever a “bad person” or whatever. Canada is a multicultural society. There is a big Russsian community. We all came here not because Russia did anything bad to us. We came here because
Of the luck of stability. Our not biased views of
politics back home and us expressing it, should not be an issue in democratic society

It the act of imperialism that is underway and I see how the US has set this up to support its greater act of imperialism (which you CLEARLY do not see). So I know you will not accept it. But this war is to carve the EU and Russia apart, and to solidify EU dependence on the USA. also the EU will be much less competitive then the US as its energy costs will soar. Anoher major goal its to confront China. Its Road and belt and AIB includes all major EU nations (57 nations in all) but not the USA. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asian_Infrastructure_Investment_Bank#Members. In fact the only major non members are the USA and Japan. Without Russia, the Road and Belt cannot span the Eurasian continent, so you can see how hard the USA is pressuring China to condemn Russia and how hard China resists. They know what is up, and they are prepared to weather whatever the US can throw at them to stick with Russia. The US is not a reliable ally. Its "cancel Culture" politics have made any long term agreement with it impossible. The world is changing, and Ukraine is but one act.
The US is a larger imperial power and I've protested against every war they've started.
But I still would never cheer on a war on a third party country because I dislike US policy.
That's a whole other level of hypocrisy.

If you're against war, be against wars of aggression by everyone.
If you're against imperialism, don't defend imperialist governments.

Seriously?

That piece is some of the most one-sided pro Kremlin bullshit I have ever read.
The author of the article is Swiss. He has served in high positions in the UN and NATO. Dismissing this as pro Kremlin propaganda doesn't cut it.

He can be the Lord High Motherfucker of the Dinglesphere, it's heavily pro Russian and far outside the mainstream of discourse on the war. Your buddy Tucker Carlson is American and that stinking piece of shit lies for Putin every night.

So in your mind only 'mainstream' views are to be taken seriously. As if the 'mainstream' is always right. Classic case of groupthink.

If 10 geo-political experts say that Russia's war in Ukraine is unprovoked aggression and the 11th says that Putin is a misunderstood victim, the 10 mainstream opinions are correct and the 11th is either bought and paid for or trying to do something different to stand out and get attention.
