Nice to see you quoting MGen(Retd) Ryan. I read a few of his white papers when I was in. I'm sure the folks on an escort review forum have their own expertise, but Gen. Ryan is a bonefide expert who has literally written the book on the topic. Unlike our friend Stolen Valour, Gen. Ryan actually did go to Staff College (and in fact went to the one Stolen Valour would have gone to if his CV was real). I cannot recommend his book "War Transformed" enough to anyone that's got even a passing interest in military and strategic studies.
But and with all due respect, 'kreal' swears by the shiny, highly polished, MoskyWood propaganda productions, placed for a price and now playing on the HT website.

Seems just some nibbling at the southern flank right now. They have also begun crossing the Dnipro in the marshy land near Kherson.
If I were to guess, I'd say that they are part of a series of probes designed to cause Russia to shuffle reinforcements and either identify a weakness or to catch forces mid-move.
At least Beria didn't take a swan dive out the window of a high story building. I guess that technology only came in Poutine times.

However an attack at Bachmut and that Adekva or however you spell it would be a nice short training run for those new assault brigades. Make a wide encirclement, don't go through Bachmut but around it and starve them out cutting off elite unites hopefully. Total embarrassment if they pull it off, and they wouldn't have to do a 75 mile drive if they went south.
The later on when more western gear shows up and they get more used to it and iron out the winkles, time to drive south around Sept.

That's silly. Attacking across the Dnipper will just cause complications. The front line is sufficiently extended and the Russian defenders sufficiently depleted that they can pick a better spot.
They're already holding land south of there.
