I totally agree! JT has done some real damage, with regards to our borders and the liberal immigration policy. One can look back in recent times, when Trump made a threat to asylum seekers in the US, who came poring over our borders and the RCMP just helped take them in, when we should have just loaded a plane up and flew them back with a one way ticket. Our policies have always been an issue with the Americans, as it relates to their security, especially since 9/11.
Except we're a signatory to the UNCHR and can't just send people back.

We've had secret Chinese police stations operating here. Foreign interference in elections, and with elected officials, which have no doubt helped make policy, that has been of benefit to them. We are a joke in the intelligence and defense world and it shows with these things.

It's damned near impossible for a new government to clean up a previous one's mess, when it comes to things like this. We have seen more gang activity than we ever have, and one isn't a racist, when one points out their ethnic origin. Like anything, it's data, which is relevant. Whatever happened to bringing in the right people? Instead the floodgates have been opened and foreign criminal enterprises operate here. Just because you've let the right people in, doesn't mean that their extended families should be allowed in too, especially when they are pat of a criminal element.

We are seeing a shift in our society, where the Canada we grew up in has fundamentally changed. Our liberal government has seen to this, with their policies on immigration and such.
Exactly the same policies and enforcement as under the Tories. Except the Toronto Sun doesn't report it when the Tories are in power.
While we have always been on the radar for terrorists, I do believe that the time is coming, when this issue finally rears its ugly head. Look no further than last summer, when the father and son were arrested in Scarborough. They're here now, and it's only a matter of time.

Is Trump wrong for his stance and how he and many Americans view Canada? I don't think so. So he'll do what he can, with speaking out about our policies and how they affect the American's sense of security and use tariffs to reinforce what he's saying.
Every western country has a few terrorists. It's impossible to spot them all right away.

I was aware of John Deeres practices

Trump will view them as an attack on US Farmers

Brokers do not control the upwards or downwards trajectory of the stock market
They facilitate trades and can make a lot of coin doing so

Institutional investors are far more influential in determining the upwards or downwards trajectory of the stock market and their views are based on their economic outlook,
An economic outlook ,which appears to be improved by Trumps election victory over Kackling Kamila

???
stock market IPOs are a source of capital for growth ideas , lots of risks in investing in new business ideas, but also critical for innovation and progress

money markets are a source of short term liquidity for corporation's and provincial / municipal governments
money markets have minimal risk premium vs the 'risk-free rate of federal government bonds
there has not been an investment grade default in commercial paper for decades in Canada (likely far longer)

lumping the pump and dump fraudster, stock market and money markets together displays a biased lack of understanding of how the capital markets lubricate the wheels of free enterprise and our economy in general
this lumping also displays a biased lack of understanding of the risk/ reward trade off all investors should undertake before investing dollar one

re: pump and dump fraudsters
money flows attracts unscrupulous people - best advice is buyer beware and do your homework before investing

did you get burnt by a high risk investment presented to you by a slick talking promoter?

its not just Keystone,
Bidens administration was anti fossil fuels and pro green energy unicorns
The latter just does not work. period.
Biden knew this,.

That is a self -contradictory statement
how does one waste pollution ?

if you deem it wasteful it must have positive value
pollution generally has only negative value

the deposit is higher viscosity hydrocarbons mixed with sand
conventional oil wells are lower viscosity oil mixed with other materials such as water, natural gas and nasty sulphur compounds

the use of the term 'tarsands' is biased and uninformed

environmentalism is a very positive ideal and a very positive practise when applied intelligently
however the current generation of environuts have shown themselves to be uncompromising , destructive and dangerous

"Just stop oil" are irresponsible lunatics
steven Guilbeault is a fanatic who would impoverish Canada and not give it a second thought

they will have set back legitimate positive environmental actions by decades

I hope Trump influences Congress and the Senate to pass very strong right to repair laws. Not just limited to John Deere either.

As for the markets. You obviously are sophisticatedly knowledgable of them and I agree with you by and large. I was oversimplifying. No, I haven't been screwed by any slick talkers etc. WhenI was young I got an inside tip (legit) about a company that was supposed to get a govt contract. I used about 75% of my money to buy options. There was problems and the programme got cancelled and I lost ALL my money. I was young and learned since that experience. I rode the TSLA wave quite lavishly and made a shitload of money. I never believed it was worth more than ALL automakers combined but I recognized the hype and Elonmania and only put in enough that I could lose without even noticing. I sold 10% whenever it was up 10% and let the balance ride until I took out all my initial investment. Then I let it all ride until this summer when I realized Elon has lost interest in Tesla, saw and drove a Cybertruck in real life and realized they had nothing new so I cashed out completely. I'm still in a private placement of Space-X because I actually beleive THAT is a revolutionary company and has REAL products and services that will only continue to grow.

Having said all that, I deal with investment bankers from time to time in working with some companies. Generally, I don't like how they really don't care about the actual value of the biz, and pad and hype it up for IPO's etc.

On the issue of oil sands. What I meant to say is that I don't like how they have to use so much energy to extract the oil from the sand. Again, I have had dealings with an oilsands service company in Fort MacMoney several years ago and got a full day tour of the process from the HUGE electric excavators right through the steam separation. I don't like all the pollution produced to net the resultant usable petroleum. I am NOT anti-oil. In fact, I have invested in a company that recovers otherwise unusable oil from abandoned wells in Texas (mostly west Texas) that have too much water to be economically viable. As the boys say, it's no good when you "hit the ocean"! The Texas Railroad Commision has incredibly detailed records of every singe hole ever drilled in Texas and there are a lot of low production but huge reserves wells with lots of water that are worth hooking up a pumpjack and separation system to draw fifty to a hundred bbls a day. Problem was, but not presently, hiring rig servicing companies to install the separation systems and install the annular seals at the right levels to isolate certain strata.

Anyways, I'm not at all impressed with Trump's knowledge or management skills but I'm taking the attitude that we are going to live in interesting times and a huge shakeup might shake out well. Or not. Who knows. 🤷‍♂️ Not like I have any say in the matter.

This isn't a "new" issue. It's been raised with the Federal liberals before. Our borders are porous and always have been. The flow of illegal guns, for gangs, is a very profitable business.
Where did I say that it was a "new issue"? This issue existed for decades, including the previous Conservative Governments, and just not with the Federal Liberals. Illegal guns are not the only profitable business, so are the drugs. Problem is that there is some bitter opposition to the more stringent regulation of guns in Canada!!
