Now, as we talk about what happened in Arlington....It's one of those things where I hate to blame Trump for this per se. I mean, I doubt he told the photographer to push the person out of the way, and I doubt he knew (or cared) about the regulations. But, as the "leader," it does reflect poorly on him and his campaign.

All that being said....the fact that he has the balls to attend this after all the shit he's said about veterans...calling the dead suckers and losers, disparaging those who were POWs??? I really have a hard time wrapping my head around this, considering how much the GOP pays lip service to "honouring the vets."
Trump’s team is a reflection of him. He surrounds himself with hyper-loyalists who display the same aggressive disregard he has for the rights of others.

The Trump team’s excuse for this debacle is that they were invited to the event by the family at the memorial and the family were fine with him videoing it. However, the family cannot grant Trump permission to break federal law nor is it their responsibility to know and enforce federal election law during their son’s memorial service.

Rather, it is Trump’s responsibility to know the laws around federal elections and to protect the family from being used as a campaign prop and getting caught up in this ugly shit storm (although if they are Trump supporters they should have known that Trump creates ugliness and chaos wherever he goes so I can’t say I’m particularly sorry for them). Regardless, Trump’s combination of ignorance and narcissism makes incidents like this the norm for him wherever he goes and whatever he does…makes no difference if it is a NATO meeting, a military memorial, or the change room at Bergdorf Goodman.

1)He's saying that the Dems are smarter than he is seeing as he fell into their trap.

2)This is also a tacit acknowledgement that what he did ay Arlington was wrong.

He fails on so many levels, from start to finish.
The video is too funny: first he tells the interviewer that he knew nothing about this video’s having been posted and that anyone could have posted it on Tik Tok including the family at the service.

So…the reporter points out to him that it was in fact his own campaign team that posted it…and then he starts carrying on about how “the administration” set them up.

Trump has the same response sequence for crisis management every time:
Stage 1. Deny the allegations and claim to know nothing about them;

when that doesn’t work…

Stage 2. Claim there is nothing wrong with what he did;

when that doesn’t work…

Stage 3: Claim he is the victim of a conspiracy;

when that doesn’t work…

Stage 4: Order your followers to start making death threats and act on them if possible (which is why the cemetery staff did not wish to pursue a criminal complaint…she was scared to)

Senator
@TomCottonAR
SHUTS DOWN the Fake News Arlington hoax: "He didn't take campaign photos there. These families — Gold Star families — whose children died due to Joe Biden and Kamala Harris's incompetence, invited him to the cemetery, and they asked him to take those photos... You know who those families also invited? Joe Biden and Kamala Harris — where were they? Joe Biden was sitting at a beach. Kamala Harris was sitting at her mansion in Washington, DC. She was four miles away — ten minutes. She could've gone to the cemetery and honor the sacrifice of those young men and women, but she hasn't. She never has spoken to them or taken a meeting with them. It is because of her and Joe Biden's incompetence that those 13 Americans were killed in Afghanistan."

Holy shlit!!
@TulsiGabbard
comes out and exposes the truth behind all the fake news and DNC trash! “I was with there from the beginning, from the laying of the wreaths with the family members... I was with them at Section 60 and what I saw was a very grave and somber remembrance and honoring of those lives that were lost. I saw President Trump spending time at the invitation of these Gold Star families, with them. He was there for a few hours. I did not see or hear about any kind go altercation until something came out in the news later on.”

This is the most brutal ad I have ever seen highlighting Kamala Harris’s role in the Afghanistan withdrawal. I watched it like three times because I actually hadn’t remembered some of this footage that the Trump team dug up. This is brutal, and we all know that Joe Biden was wrong on every single foreign policy decision in his administration but now we also know that Kamala Harris is going to be worse.

The whole point of it was to do the political ad (and the made up "Biden and Harris refused to go" story).
Exactly. Trump could have just told his team to put the cameras away and privately accompanied the family to the grave as they remembered their son.

But that would have defeated the entire purpose of Trump’s visit. As far as Trump is concerned, the family themselves are just extras in his campaign vid…so turning off the cameras would never be an option.

I continue to hope that someone will release the video of this altercation which Trump’s team claim to have in their possession. Trump should release the tapes!
